Re: Garage Studio Build

It ends up with the same rigidity as styrofoam. It's got some give if you push it but it fairly hard and the surface is sort of glossy. Not a biggie either way once the drywall and treatments go in. I was always curious about that. I've seen the stuff from a can, that also does the glossy thing, bu...

More echo-y? Does the stuff get so solid that it reflects?

Re: outputting masters at different level for cd vs streaming

I hope More Space Echo chimes in here.

Here is my take. I'd rather be in control of these things than leaving it to some unknown, person or bot at a ginormous company.

Re: Reverb Help

Echoboy does some really cool "reverb"-ish things too. Thing is a game changer for me. I've been having so much fun with it. Def. get the full version. I've done the really short delay with a lot of feedback thing with Soundtoys Primal Tap and it works really and is super simple to get going. Yea, ...

Re: Reverb Help

Audio thing outer space is worth checking out. Killer space echo emulation (with spring reverb ) If I was to grab another delay it'd be the Echoboy. It also emulates the Space Echo along with several other vintage gear. Plus, it's 50% off for the next week. The Echoboy Jr is only $29, but without m...

Re: Multing Lead vocals

^^^^^^ that's cool. usually don't mess with multiple compressors on vox, but i do like to sneak just a little of the uncompressed vocals in under the compressed ones. basically i just put the compressed vox where they're not quite loud enough in the mix, then bring in the dry track just enough to p...

Re: Multing Lead vocals

I've not gone full Brauer, but have used parallel compression on vocals a fair amount of times. It really depends on what I want from the vocal. Sometimes one compressor and automation works, sometimes a couple compressors in series on the main track.

2016 Ric bass (4003S) in midnight blue, recently off of ebay. In great shape (unlike myself)!
On a friend's recommendation, I stuck Rotosound swing 66 strings on it.

I think I may have seen that on the 'ol eBay.

Re: Do you have a guitar ISO cabinet?

Yeah, I always thought 703 seemed like a no-brainer for those except perhaps tube heat, building up. But it looks to me like you've got heads going outside of the ISO and speakers inside so- not an issue. How cool are the Bottle Rockets sounding these days? Seeing that makes me want to go see the J...

Re: Do you have a guitar ISO cabinet?

That's really interesting Roscoe. You would think the makers of those boxes would have dome some experimenting with acoustic materials.

Re: Mounting Mics To Drum Rims

am I the only one who had issues with those LP percussion claws resonating? I still use them on occasion, but always mounted to another mic stand. Theoretically anything mounted to the drum is going to resonate with the drum, except of course in the suspension hardware/latin percussion claw scenari...

Re: Unbalanced Polarity Flip

ya seems like you don't have multiple phases to flip - just the one phase plus ground coming in on the unbalanced line what are you hoping to achieve ? I try not to say phases, isn't that a bunch of peoples pet peeve when you confuse polarity and phase? But yeah, I'm looking for 180 degree phase sh...

Re: Mounting Mics To Drum Rims

The LP Claws that I mentioned work great when attached to suspension mounts. I guess its hard for me to tell online how well it would attach to the suspension mounts (googled that I guess that is what this drummer has?)...the clips I have used seem to clip securely on to rims (though can get droopy...
