Well I never ended up canceling my Sweetwater preorder that I placed way back in June so guess I’m getting a second one tomorrow. Will find out if duophonic is a gimmick I suppose, or Pan both hard, or stereo processor...
First world problems...

Had one of those Behringer Model D Minimoog clones show up today. Just showed up at work so haven’t had time to plug it in yet.
Start a thread on that once you've had some time with it, please.

What's your host program? I still run PT10 and my system generally works, so I'm not sure how these things would do.

Re: Acustica Audio - Aqua / Nebula Plugins

There's a big Acoustic/Nebula fanboy crowd (its worse than UAD in that respect), but it always seems to me that that world is a complete cluster. Between their totally cryptic website and names, I've pretty much written them off.

Re: Latest gear you've acquired.....

Lost a ton of stuff when my car burned up during a recent move. Not least of which was my 1957 Fender Champ. A bunch of guitars, a crate full of effects pedals, a clavichord, 88-key digital piano, tenor sax and flute, among other stuff. I wish I hadn't done such a good job packing the car. My daugh...

Re: my mixes are hurting my earballs!

I just took a listen to the track. I think musically you've got some really great things happening. You ideas are really great fro the song. From a technical point of view, I hear the upper mid build up. (I only listened on ear buds, I'm at home). I feel like there's a solid low end from the bass, b...

Re: my mixes are hurting my earballs!

All the replies so far are great, and I love you attitude towards them. I'll see if I can add a few things. What have you done to your garage? If its all hard surfaces, you will probably get a lot of fatigue no matter what. How much time have you spent listening to other music on you monitors in tha...

They were one of the best live bands I've ever seen. RIP Pat, thanks for the music.

Re: Slate Everything Bundle

Here you can see the McDSP subscription page. I'm a big fan of the 6030 compressor package and the AE400 active EQ. I own both of those and have demoed others that sound really good as well. McDSP was one of the early plugin developers that a lot of "name" guys started using as PT was taking over.

Re: Distressor Plugins

Klanghelm has a great compressor that will get you right in that neighbourhood. It's incredibly inexpensive, as well. I listened to the Arouser drum samples and the Klanghelm does that same thing. Samples are cool to get an idea, but I always feel like using something in a production is the best wa...

Re: Attn: Recording Teachers (of teens)

Part of what you need to think about is how long the class lasts, both in terms of class periods and length of term. You're trying to give as much information as possible, to cover many bases, and to make sure they leave with a certain knowledge and understanding. I teach a 2 hour once a week, one s...
