It's most likely the 400f, many people have had this problem. Are you using a Mac? I've heard there is a fix for this. Check the harmony central pro review's last couple of pages I think anderton addresses this possibly. It also happens on my computer when I switch between sample rates more than onc...

I have to do that every once in a while as well on my PC with the beta drivers. It's only while I'm listening to audio on the internet or media player (usually both at the same time), and never while I'm actually recording with my DAW, so I never really had a problem with it. Before I start recordin...

Hate to make this more confusing, but I have the Mackie Onyx 400f which has 4 really nice pre's and 4 Line-ins with really good conversion in a firewire unit. You can use it with most popular programs except Pro-Tools. It's $700 and you get Tracktion which is nice as well, especially since it seems ...

Not crappy, just cheap--Tascam VLS21, got 'em for $80. It's a powered sub with 2 small flat-panel satellite speakers. Don't know what the frequency response is but they have no business sounding as good as they do for this price. Very simple, just a power switch and volume control. The flat-panels ...

After about a year or two of saying that dual 400f compatability is coming soon, I've pretty much given up. The beta drivers came out like 3 or 4 months ago, but I still can't seem to summon much hope for good mackie drivers(edit: the old ones work good for me, still no "non-beta" dual compatibility...

Thanks for the reply. I did some more reading about the 400F and it seems it also has a mixer function, I guess I could just plug my monitors into that as opposed to the 002R's monitor outs. Am I right in seeing that the mixer version of the Onyx has FW as an option only, whereas the rackmounted on...

The 400F's pre's are very nice. I have used them for everything and been perfectly happy. It only has four pre's but is a firewire unit with other nice features and comes with Tracktion which is a great program to at least try out. The SP828 has eight pre's, but it's not digital I don't believe. It ...

Yeah, I emailed him and he said maybe someday...but honestly, what's more fun for a developer, inventing new things and working on them, or endlessly translating stuff you were finished with a year ago? If he's making a decent living with what he already does, you can hardly blame him for resisting...
