Re: Pro Tools HDX not Bouncing all Tracks to Disk!

Couldn't do one print and cut it up as every song was it's own PT session - they needed that kind of care. Good thing is client signed off on first pass! I FOUND OUT THE ISSUE FOR SURE: Avid's Pro Multiband Splitter plug-in will not work in Bounce To Disk when in DSP mode. Native mode totally worked.

Re: Pro Tools HDX not Bouncing all Tracks to Disk!

I get Nick's idea for mixing, and I have done that and of course do that with console mixing. But for projects of this scope it would add untold hours. Although in this case it would have saved hours. But generally BTD should work... it's supposed to. Been changing each session to Native only and al...

Pro Tools HDX not Bouncing all Tracks to Disk!

Hey Everyone: As you can imagine, I'm fairly used to Pro Tools by now. We recently "upgraded" from HD Native Thunderbolt to HDX PCIe card (external chassis/Mac Mini) recently, and overall it's working great and latency is finally unnoticeable. So, I'm working on a huge cassette restoration project, ...

LOOKING FOR: Furman HRM16 units

I'm looking for extra Furman HRM16 headphone distribution mixers for backup at Jackpot. I have 2 HDS master units but more of the mixer/headphone amps would be smart as they are discontinued. If you have some, or even a whole system, I'm curious!

Re: Favorite Hardware Reverb Unit

I want an AKG BX10 and BX20 so bad. We used to see them for $100 or 20's for free. I should have grabbed them back in the 90s!

Re: The Cue Send On My 388 Is Mono Only

i don't think anyone used a 388 for live tracking back the they came out! It was a hobbiest's toy. Some dude pumping out endless guitar solos over a drum machine!

Re: Favorite Hardware Reverb Unit

Lexicon PMC60 for drums
Demeter Real Reverb for guitars (maybe Benson Tall Bird rack for longer sounds)
EMT 140 for vocals (with custom Hamptone electronics and DynaMount to move the damper)

The rest would have to be ridiculous so I do in the box with Valhalla/UAD/Soundtoys/Transatlantic

Romancing The (bad) Past

Hey all, I'm currently mixing archival music from the early-mid 70's. It's totally awesome, and some aspects would leave you stunned in how much commitment and foresight was involved, how good the players were, and how well most tracks sound. But man, dealing with a live concert where one of the mos...

Re: people with consoles

I think I had a long talk with Geoff Daking about this once, and he said to leave it on. The rush of current and filling capacitors at turn on is when the system gets stressed. But I turn off the RND 5088 here. That way the AC doesn't run all night cooling the room down. The again I could fry eggs o...
