Wondering if anyone has opinions/experiences with the TL audio mixers, specifically the Tube Track or the TL4. I am particularly interested in the ADAT interface options t...

Tascam DM 3200 + X-48 - Opinions?

I am building up my set up from a preamp/interfaced based remote rig to a full 24/32 track record/mixdown platform. Am not even considering Pro Tools....or older analog esoteric consoles. I am looking for routing flexibility, motorized fader layer (compatible w/Logic), Surround capability and 96k/24...

Monitor Hum: Pls help me diagnose

Hi: Monitor hum came out of nowhere - I have no idea why or how it started. Event PS8s, which have been good. Motu 828mkII, Mac G4 Furman power conditioning Monitors plugged right into 828, 1/4. Tested cables. Checked different power sources, still getting hum. My DAW isn't even booted up?? Thanks!

Suggested bass guitar settings for a UA 2108

Hi: I am going direct into Logic with a CRAPPY bass through a 2108. Can anyone give me a good baseline (NPI) for suggested settings on the 2108? Just a general "acceptable" range -- I don't want to make a blatant oversight only to find out latter in my mix. "What sounds good" isn't a very solid refe...

Did you see them a few years ago when they reunited? They played some really phenomenal shows out here in L.A. before breaking up again.
Yes, it must have been about '93 now that you mentioned it. Swamp Thing. Incredible beyond words....

Terry Manning did a lot of work with Big Star in Memphis, I believe. He now runs Compass Point. I believe Terry is featured in Jeff Touzeau's (tape op writer) new book Making Tracks.....good stuff...

"Priceless" as in "I can't afford any of that gear"...
You can probably afford the Apple powered speakers, which go for about $35 a pair.

Obvious, but not said yet:

Queen, We Will Rock You. Very beginning during first drum pass...there is a very audible voice in the background..."awwww" or something. Just doesn't fit & a mistake.

Great thread...thanks for posting. For me, the most eerie or unsettling song (and I don't know why) is

Time in a Bottle (By Jim Croce)......chord progression, his voice, minor to major change.....beautifull by definitely unsettling.

Just get some Paiste 2002s. I've never met any that I didn't like. Flexible crashes that can also be used as rides....say an 18".
