Tascam 234 Question

Hello there. I was wondering if any Tascam 234 users could help me out. I am interested in getting a 234 to remix some stuff I recorded on a Tascam 414 MKII. I want to be able to use an actual mixer and a bit of outboard so I'm not confined to the limits of the 414's mixer. Will I just be able to po...

Re: Ink for stamping logo on CD-R's?

Hmmmm cool idea Tyler! I imagine it's kinda like silk screening your own t-shirts. Could be rad and cheap, or at worst cheesy. ::awaits inky-saavy TapeOpper to drop knowledge:: It's got a neat DIY look to it. Someone on another messageboard is going to message me back about the best kind of ink. I ...

Re: Ink for stamping logo on CD-R's?

Re: Mac Laptop question

OK thanks for that info about the HD.

In order to run OS X properly, how much HD space would you recommend?

Mac Laptop question

hey there. I am looking to pickup a mac laptop, probably an ibook, that will mainly be used for watching dvd's, listening to music, some basic html/design stuff and 2 channel audio. I was wondering if something like a 500mhz G3 with 256 RAM, would play dvd's smoothly and work ok for the rest of the ...

In this case I mean using a stamp to make a label on the CDR. I'll change my subject to avoid confusion though. Thanks.

I don't post too often. Once in a while I'll have a question but i don't feel like I know enough to answer other gear/recording questions.

Ink for stamping logo on CD-R's?

Hey there. I was reading some of the other threads about stamping a logo onto CDR's. I am going to be ordering a few stamps from www.stampman.com and was wondering what the best looking/longest lasting type of ink for doing this? Screen Ink? Which stamp is better, wooden or the "ideal" type of stamp...

Re: The Last(?) Alesis 3630 Thread

If you are electronically inclined you can check out http://www.blacklionaudio.com/ because he has mod kits to make the 3630 sound a lot better. I haven't saved enough $$$ for one yet but if you search around tapeop and other places around the net you can find out about it. PS, His site seems to be ...

keeping with this thought, way back in the early days of recording eq was commonly reffered to as a "corrective tool" if something wasn't tracked properly.

I just realized there are some old rca 12ax's in my broken wurlitzer. Is there any way I can test them to see if they're still ok?

Re: need advice buying 2-track recorder..

My question is: Is it a crazy idea to buy a 2track R2R off ebay and have it shipped to me? Should I just wait till I find one closer? I had mine shipped to me via freight. Totally fine. The guy even had a lift on the back and lowered it down to the sidwalk and we uncrated it there and rolled it in....

Re: need advice buying 2-track recorder..

I'm in a similar position as antonlamont45, looking for a 2 track. I live in Canada and I haven't been able to find a machine within any sort of reasonable driving distance.
