I would go for the Sony, I have a 3036 and I really dig it, the best thing that I have bought for the studio. ever. There not a really colorful desk but I find that what it lacks in color is more than made up for in clarity and depth. The API stuff sounds great in mine and the passive sony eq's are ...

Should be an easy fix, the powersupplys are fine (had them looked at) just the meter bridge is dead.

What do all you studio owners out there have for rules for independent engineers working at your studio? What do you do about keys, contracts, equipment damage ect.

I have a old Tube Driver rack mount and I hook it up on an Aux. Sounds really cool on snare drums, bass and vocals.

I would go for it. Working on a console is a much more enjoyable experience then ITB. I also think that any half decent console sounds better, or at least more unique then Pro Tools. I bet that you will out grow your 002r way before the ghost.
