Seattle tape machine tech?

Hi all, I am looking for a tech to come and look at my MCI JH24 tape machine. Despite my best efforts, I can't get it running. It was once synced to another JH24 with a Zeta 3 (I have two zeta 3s and the other machine) but I don't know how to hook it up and I am not sure I have all the cables. Any w...

Looking for studio/rehearsal space in Seattle area

Hi all, My band and I are looking for a space in Seattle to use as a studio/rehearsal room. A share situation would be ideal. I used to own a recording studio and I still have all my gear (Sony 3036 console, MCI 24 track tape machines, Pro Tools TDM, lots of rack gear and mics) and would be willing ...

Recording studio co-op (Seattle)

Hi, I am thinking about setting up a co-op or a partnership of some kind in Seattle. I used to own a full time studio but I lost my space about a year ago. I still own all my equiptment. The other day I found a studio space for rent. It's all ready built out, all that it needs is gear. I don't have ...

I would go for the non VCA console, basically for the same reasons that Joel Hamiton said. When I was looking at consoles I had narrowed it down to two Sony 3036 and I was amazed how much better the non automated one sounded. I felt like the top end had sort of smeared sound to it and lacked clarity...

When I bought my console I was in the same price range. I looked at MCI 636,536 Amek Angela, Sony 3036, Trident 24. I wound up getting a Sony 3036 and I have been really happy with it. I have 2 channels of API pres and eqs and the Sony stuff sounds good too. Mine does not have automation and I think...

I would go for the Sony, I have a 3036 and I really dig it, the best thing that I have bought for the studio. ever. There not a really colorful desk but I find that what it lacks in color is more than made up for in clarity and depth. The API stuff sounds great in mine and the passive sony eq's are ...

I need a console tech in Seattle!!!

So my 3036 died on me and I really need to get her back up and running. If you are a tech, or know one that can work on my desk PLEASE give me a shout.

Should be an easy fix, the powersupplys are fine (had them looked at) just the meter bridge is dead.

Let me know,

Reed

rules for independent engineers...

What do all you studio owners out there have for rules for independent engineers working at your studio? What do you do about keys, contracts, equipment damage ect.

Thanks,

I have a old Tube Driver rack mount and I hook it up on an Aux. Sounds really cool on snare drums, bass and vocals.

I would go for it. Working on a console is a much more enjoyable experience then ITB. I also think that any half decent console sounds better, or at least more unique then Pro Tools. I bet that you will out grow your 002r way before the ghost.

Best luck,
