TDIF can be a PITA when dealing with transfering between multiple machines. You might want to consider getting the ADAT card for your Radar if you plan on doing this more often. Works flawlessly when we transfer Radar files to our MixPlus system using the ADAT24 interfaces. Or upgrade the RADAR to ...

Re: Korg PadKontrol - BFD - G5 - 002R: Walk Me Though The Ho
So I just bought a Korg PadKontrol so I can trigger BFD in my G5 that I'm running Pro Tools on. I have downloaded BFD, it's all there. But I really could use someone to baby walk me through the MIDI set-up. Please be as specific as you can, I'm new to all of this. THanks, Dennis Are you wanting to ...

You really just need a mult that will ensure a proper load on the output. Brent Averill sells boxes that will do this, but if you or someone you know can wire up some transformers to do the job properly, you're golden. Chris Garges Charlotte, NC Brent Averill summing box is what you are looking for...

How would you be clocking a 002 with the apogee? Do you mean because there is no external clock input? If you plug a digital signal into a digital input on the 002 then you can (and indeed you must) tell ProTools to use the clock arriving at that digital input as its clock source (Session Setup win...

I have mixed things tracked entirely on an LE system, based around an 002r. With the 002 you will have the option for some really good conversion made by a third party. You would implement this by going through the lightpipe interface. That would give you 16 I/O and via spdif, with something approp...

Re: 3 Mic Drum Technique: Panning?
I wanted to know for using the three drum mic technique (http://www.mercenary.com/3micdrumstuf.html) with a U195, Royer 121, Audio Technica 4033 what would be the panning options? I feel this setup is meant for a mono type of sound but is it possible to get a full stereo sound from this setup using...

Re: Setting the click track in PT
I was wondering how you would set a click track in PT LE for a song with time changes. I'm recording a friends band and they have one song that switches from 4/4 time to 3/4, then back to 4/4. They also have one that is in 4/4 the whole time, but half way through it speeds up. Any help on how to do...

Re: Sunburn Girl - pop rock song...mix critique
Hi All, Ive been working with a band on a song and am looking for suggestions on the mix. Musicianship is out of my hands, but I would like any critique of the mix. When looking at this thing on inspector, its full of sound from 0-800, then from 1k-2k its pretty low, and then the hi end doesnt look...

Re: management vs. no management
I am at a crossroads in my studio career. I started working to learn how to record and mix because I was a musician and didn't want a real job. Here I am almost 10 years later, able to record and mix, and I am sick of working on rap, r&b, gospel, and MTV pop, all genres of music I hated before and ...

Thanks guys. I've got an old Akai consumer level deck that I've been goofing around with. I run vocals through it on the way to hard-disk. Obviously, the vocals wind up out of sync with the rest of the tracks, due to the latency introduced by monitoring the signal on the "tape" setting, which is th...

Re: Simple Question: Recorder / Reproducer?
I understand "recorder," but what does "reproducer" mean? On the output section of the Tascam 32 Pro, for example, you have a choice of three settings: 1. input 2. sync 3. repro Input, I'm sure allows you to monitor the signal you sending into the machine. But what about options 2 and 3? Thanks fol...
