Well, I'm comfortable with being an "asshole" -- I'll admit to being one occasionally. me too!! As for your productivity, how can I know it will increase it? It may not. If you're happy with what you use why switch? Why even concern yourself with an alternative. This was the root of the "bullshit" ...

so, guestimated percentages aside, what revolutionary features does Reaper offer that will so dramatically increase my productivity over the programs that I use now (Cubase, DP and PT)? And, sorry... but, just living here for a while doesn't make your joke any more funny or clever or mature to some...

It's really not that big of a deal... well, except for the insulting, asshole-ish "spoon-feeding" comment... but, you truly do a disservice to the product that you love when you just make up figures like you did. I don't 'love' it -- it's just software. It gets a job done. It does a good job at a l...

Just calling bullshit when I see it. for someone calling bullshit, you don't seem to have any problem throwing around random, bullshit statistics. I, and most people who stick with it, can work somewhere between 30-50% faster. I'm intrigued by this app, though... Are there plans for a Mac version? ...

gearbox includes a few preamp emulations

opinions vary on how good a job L6 did with them, though.

I find them useful every now and then for some things

I tried reaper today for the first time. What a dump. I felt like I was recording on a computer program instead of recording on a recording machine, for the first time. Weird. Considering it's a computer program. WTF did you expect? Something that didn't remind me of the first time I tried WINE wit...

I've been trying out Reaper for the last couple of days and it's great. I usually use Digital Performer on a Mac, and I'm still amazed at how simple Reaper is. It does everything that I need DP to do and in a quicker, more intuitive way. If Reaper came out for the Mac, I'd be tempted to ditch DP. I...

I personally aim for around the $50 mark

Reaper (not a plug I realize, but comes with a ton of them, most really good) $40
Stillwell Audio plugs = $25 a pop for reap users (really nice plugins too)
Voxengo...I think the last two I bought were both around 50-ish

a year ago I thought reap was not very good (to put it mildly) I tried it a few times off and on and it wasn't until probably 1.8x that I knew it was going to be a winner. I don't think I paid for it for about 9 months...waited until I thought it was a good alternative to steinberg. v2 is kicking as...

now my dog can be a guitar player

but seriously, in a technical sense, that is pretty incredible.

I'd like to use it not to 'correct' stuff but for creative manipulation and warping hell out of audio...I guess that would be 'abuse' :D

here's some interesting and new info on reaper's ability to spread the load across multiple processing cores. impressive http://www.cockos.com/forum/showthread.php?t=18747 I also appreciate reaper because rather than upgrading to cubase 4.x I spent $40 on reap, got a better program, and had enough m...
