Pitfalls to importing PTs 8 sessions into PTs 10?
I just upgraded from 8 to 10, but I'm wondering if I'm gunna have to change my mixes much. I'm only using the built-in PTs plugs in 8 to mix, so no worries there. Are those plugs still in PTs 10? Will I have to remix with the new channel strip, for instance? I guess it doesn't matter now because I'v...

Protools 9 Upgrade
Is it possible to officially upgrade from PTs 8 to 9 anymore? I went on the Avid website and all I see is 10, 10, 10...

Protools 10 and iLoks
I'm half of a production team. We each have our own Protools rigs in our respective apartments, and wish to upgrade to Protools 10. What we would *like* to do is buy one copy of the software, and have our own iLoks to boot said software. Is this possible, or does 10 require one and only iLok per ins...

I was thinking more in terms of systems that the software will successfully install and run on. Most software, including daws, install flawlessly on just about any combination of chipsets and cpus. PTs historically has been a bit of a nightmare in this regard. I'm hoping that, even with the ilock, n...

PT 9 and hardware compatibility...
Now that 'tools has been unhooked from specific hardware, are there still arcane and inconvenient computer hardware restrictions (chipset, etc.), or can you confidently load it on just about any computer, without worry, like every other DAW?

iPod/iPhone vsts
Is it possible at all to run vsts or something similar on an iPod/iPhone using a MIDI keyboard and then take the audio out with acceptable latency for playing live?

use USB drives for recording/backup. A USB drive is fast enough to track to? Awesome I was not aware of this Not with protools, especially not with multiple tracks running. Maybe Logic can work with the reduced transfer speed, I'm not sure. Not sure about that. Digidesign recommends tracking to ext...

Capturing a plugin chain
Through the generosity of the Gods, I was able to construct an eight plugin chain on a vocal track that kicks ass. It's a unique sound, and I wanna be able to use it everywhere, including live. Anyone know of any technology that can capture a digital signal path "signature", thus making it portable?...
