I use Sound Forge Audio Studio 10 on Windows 7. Got a legit copy on ebay for $19 a couple years ago.

Number 1 Hit!

Been getting my stuff organized. Check out what I found! I think I bought it somewhere in Oregon when I was helping a friend move from Orange County, CA to Seattle. He was a 'zine author himself and pointed Tape Op out on the rack as being really good for people who like to record. Been reading ever...

Stores That Carry Flents FliteMate Earplugs

Any national or regional chains that carry the Flents FliteMate earplugs recommended in the issue 86 gear reviews? I'm in San Francisco. Seems like they're $8 shipped if you buy online.

Just got mine in from Amazon. It's gonna be a great read! Been waiting for the book every since the excepts.

Finished Keith Richards' 'Life' and Geoff Emerick's 'Here there and Everywhere" recently. Both recommended as well.

Yeah, the first time I saw them (1995?) was with Porl on guitar. I saw the Zeppelin 'reunion,' the one that produced the 'No Quarter' cd, and Porl played guitar with Page and Plant. They paid tribute to their guest guitarist by playing Fascination Street. I pretty much blew my wad right in my pants...

Re: So I decided to try Ubuntu.....

I probably lead a charmed life, but I'm one of the few people out there who's never had a real problem with Windows. What say you? I'm about to start dabbling a little with ubuntu studio. Mainly because I forsee a day when my Windows audio apps force me to use Vista or some even more big brotherish...

Re: aargh.

I'm having my first problem. For some reason, a while after installing a SATA drive as the non-primary, non-boot drive, the bios tries to boot from it. The bios is set to boot from the "Hard-Disk Drive C:", but it tries to boot from the SATA drive, which is F: I can successfully boot to windows if ...

I saw over on the poweredge forums that cpu swapping is fairly common for the 400sc. cpu names like "northwood", "prescott" and "extreme edition" pop up when searching. I may eventually look in to upgrading from my 2.4mhz to something quicker. Anyone done this?

cheap 'n easy

Setting this thing up has been a breeze. All I have left to do is find data and power adaptor cables for the two "like new" 160MB SATA drives I scored for $25 each. I went to five different computer stores yesterday, and nobody has the power adaptors, so I'll be mail ordering. The 400SC runs dead qu...

Just Bought a Dell 400SC

It's in really great shape, has a 2.4 ghz P4 in it, 1 gig of RAM, and cost me $120. The 40 gig hard drive on it has a fresh fedora linux install. I'm thinking I'd like to add a second drive as a completely seperate WinXP environment for my DAW, and just boot from either one depending on what I wante...
