Does it make espresso as well?? That thing looks pretty cool, but I believe you have helped me to perhaps refine my question:
Instead of finding a quality external burner, maybe the solution is to find a quality internal burner and a USB enclosure in which to mount it? Any thoughts or ideas?

External CD Burner
Howdy,
Looking for a recommendation for an external USB CD burner for my laptop. I'm not looking for the cheapest thing out there. I need something reliable, relatively quick and burns consistent CDR's. Thank you very much.

Looking for studio in Norfolk, VA area
Howdy,
I'm going to be relocating to the Norfolk, VA area for a while. I'm looking to see if anyone has a line on some decent studios in this area. Specifically looking to do horn section work, usually a 3 or 4 piece section. Anyone out there in Norfolk, please drop me a line.

Need 1 inch - 16 track in San Diego
OK, now I'm looking for a 16 track 1" machine in San Diego. My client has some multitrack masters that need to be transferred to digital then remixed.
Anyone have any leads on a studio with this format in San Diego?

Your method should work fine, if the 1/4" inputs on your recorder can raise up the instrument level that the keyboard will be putting out. When I record keyboard, I either use a DI for each channel, then into a mic pre, or I use a mic pre that has a special 'instrument' jack. If you have a pair of D...

Need 1/4" transfer in San Diego...
Alright, thanks to those who reponded to my original post. Turns out my client doesn't need a 24 track tape machine. He needs to transfer a 1/4" master to ProTools and CD. So, now I am looking for someplace in San Diego that can do this. He has only a CD worth of music, but it's spread across severa...

Looking for 24 track 2" tape studio in San Diego
Hello all:
Looking for a studio in San Diego that has a 2" 24 track recorder. I already know about Signature Sound and Studio West. Just looking for something else. Thanks.

The SP828 does look pretty good. Can someone who has one of these give me some feedback as to what you like/dislike about it. The Focusrite also looks great, but I think the added flexibility of the 2 track out on the SP828 is big useful bonus. I enjoy the sound I get now from the Soundcraft board, ...

Being a horn player myself, this topic is near and dear to my heart. Most horn sessions that I have been on as a player, and all as an engineer, have been done as a section. You will almost never achieve a section sound when horns are recorded individually. The unspoken musical communication that oc...
