Just nomenclature, depending on the intended distribution. Electronically, they're the same. Thank you, I've been wondering that for a long time. So I assume they are planning to install and route to something that will allow it to be mixed with the FOH to go live to two track? I also wanted to chi...

I would love the regular MC012's, as I've actually used them before and loved them, but I can't seem to find any for sale anywhere, besides a couple expired ebay auctions, which isn't my favorite place to buy mics anyway. Guess I'm not sure what the difference is between them and the MK012's, but th...

Room mics for small venue

I'm doing some work at a small studio/venue(like 20-25 capacity) that hosts mostly singer/songwriter stuff, but occasionally has full bands. They record their shows and would like to get a modest pair of room mics, largely to pic up the audience, but also to add some room sound and give the bands a ...

Sweet, I just queued it up on Netflix, thanks for the heads up. I've know who he was for a long time, but only recently discovered his solo stuff and have become slightly obsessed.

Oops, I just looked up Marc Ribot, and Asmodeus was actually released last year. I'm gonna leave it up though, I got it this year and I love it. Some of the best guitar tone I've heard in a long time. Add Trevor Dunn on bass, and what more could you want.

Dub Trio - Another Sound is Dying Marc Ribot - Asmodeus: The book of Angels Vol. 7 Portishead - Third and I guess the Melvins - Nude with boots(though I preferred A Senile Animal) Honorable mentions that I'm sure would be on this list but I haven't got around to buying yet: Marc Ribots Ceramic Dog, ...

Bump. Going to ebay tomorrow. I know it's a weird item, but I figured I'd try it here first.

FS: Rane MA-6 Power Amplifier. Cheap!

I've got a brand new Rane 6 Channel power amp, never used that I'm looking to get rid of. I've had it for almost a year now and have no use for it. I got it as a bonus when I installed a sound system for a record label owner(that I often work for)'s restaurant. It was extra and just laying around, s...

SSL Group Fader Automation Flaw?

I'm very confused right now about a problem I've been having with group automation on a 9000J console. After you fast forward or rewind, the faders in the group won't recognize the level of the group master until either a) you touch the group master, b) the group master sees automation(makes a move)...

Re: Dub Trio

They've pretty much instantly become number 1 on the list of bands I must see, but they're not playing anywhere near LA. I have some friends playing SXSW though, and can hitch a ride in their van, so if I'm not working maybe I can catch em there. As far as the other albums, I imagine I'll be buying ...

Spent many hours editing/prepping for a Nickelback live DVD, then went to a so so show at some new venue downtown.

Dub Trio

Just picked up Another Sound is Dying last night, having never heard them before and not knowing what to expect, and holy shit it blew my mind. I listened to it 4 times last night, and am right now in the studio, where it sounds even better. That hasn't happened to me since probably Tool's Enima(12 ...

Well, I went ahead and got Misery is a Butterfly, and unfortunately I can't say I'm blown away. I was all excited, opened it up to find out Eyvind Kang plays on it and got more excited, only to put it on and be somewhat dissapointed. I guess I didn't like the song Falling Man upon first listen then ...

Thanks for a great answer. I'll probably go with "Fake." I love Sonic Youth, and "proggy" is cool, as long as thats not all the music has going for it. I could definately see myself wind up getting all of them, but I gotta start somewhere. Not really ready to go drop $100+ on someone I've never real...
