Re: Who makes the best CUSTOM ATA flight cases?

Try Technology Hardware, 800 394-2697. They are an Anvil reseller. They do custom designs, then the cases are built at the Anvil plant.

Re: Koreatown Diary: The man in the sandwich costume

Escape from NY Pizza in SF sometimes has a guy dressed as a big pizza slice handing out coupons on the sidewalk. Cracks me up every time.

Re: The TapeOp OT Abbey Road

Nice job, everyone! Can't wait to hear the rest. These are all really good. Not to slight anyone else, but the two I am particularly enjoying right now are mikeyc's "Oh! Darling" and marqueemoon's "You Never Give Me Your Money." Mikeyc - good choice on holding back on the "screamy" parts. I'm sure i...

The Aislers Set's records were done on an Otari MX5050, I think. Also, Unwound's "Leaves Turn Inside You."

Drag. I get those. It's usually the big pulsating orb, which turns into a blind spot, then crushing pain. At the first sign of onset I take a bunch of advil. Mine seem to be diet related: too much sugar, or dehydration, brings them on. Drinking tons of water sometimes helps a little. Caffeine withdr...

Re: this one's for ampguy!

well i listened to it 3 times, and there are a few times where he's got the groove going, but i think the first step is to remove the vocals, it conflicts with the instrumental playing. Monster tone, and a good sport, too.... ampguy, you're all right. I was downloading a bunch of mp3s from this pag...

Re: Managing time + developing my interests

It's a rare occasion that I plan anything a day in advance. So do I need to sacrifice this and start planning every week? Do I need to go day planner up on this? Probably, yes. I'm not the best one to give advice - planning and prioritizing is something that I totally suck at, but I've gotten a lit...

Re: Anyone heard of the band Rogue Wave?

Ah, Google... Is there nothing you cannot do? http://www.roguewavemusic.com/ I think they are from the Bay Area; I've seen their name on fliers and stuff. I don't know anything else about them except that their website is a little too flash-happy for my liking. And it appears to have audio clips, bu...

McSweeney's is a very cool small publisher. They put out a quarterly collection of fiction, each with a different theme and always with cool packaging. #12 featured "20-Minute Short Stories," including ones written by the Old 97's Rhett Miller, Galxie 500/Luna's Dean Wareham, and our very own J. Ro...

Re: incomplete discography

Since you're talking about it... Who writes some of that stuff? AMG is a pretty indispensible guide, and I'm sure it's a monumental task, but they could use a little quality-control in the reviews. I randomly clicked on a review for, uh, Slipknot.... makes Pitchfork seem... whatever the opposite of ...

Re: Naive question about input gain

I'm not sure if I understand your question or not, but it seems that your question is about what appears to be redundancy in the two pieces of equipment. The delta 66 card has the variable input options so that it can accomodate a range of gear. If you had a piece of gear that did not give you any ...
