Re: Beautiful poem by someone in my creative writing club
Whoo. That's, um, something else. When I was in high school I was <dorkalert> co-editor of the literary magazine </dorkalert> and we got dozens of submissions that were on par with this one. I really really wanted to put out a "bootleg" version of the lit mag, consisting of only this type of stuff, ...

Re: organizing little random cables/connectors
I work in an office. Whenever anyone gets new business cards (or when someone quits and I clean out their desk, including the 500 business cards they ordered minus the 2 they actually used) I swipe the box. I have a drawer in my desk full of business-card boxes, tops and bottoms, lined up side by si...

Re: my new album - "a panic in a pagoda"
Hey drew,
These all sound really great. I always liked the version of "All the way to belgium" from the now-defunct songwriting competition page. It's nice to hear it beefed up a bit. I like the guitar sounds on "evilseeds." Nice job!

I thought this forum was for posting music and mp3s.
Shouldn't this post, since it offers a service for sale, be in the "Buy/Sell" forum?

i won't be able to make it to this, but it looks good. I saw Blevin Blechdom (Blectum) perform once, and her thing was really cool.

I've used BAX quite a bit for various offices where I've worked, and had good luck with them.
I also like Target Logistic Services, but I've only used them domestically.

Re: vice-presidential debates
I'm gonna watch just for the part where Cheney runs to the end of his leash and tries to chomp Edwards' neck.
Or the part where Karl Rove's henchmen pull the rope that dumps the bucket of pig's blood on John Edwards.
What?

Re: so... i'm not gonna vote.
I hate that we don't seem to be able to break out of a two-party system. I hate even more that disgust/indifference at the presidential choices trickles down through the whole voting process so that people, like Wing and many others, think that the whole voting process is pointless. November 2 is no...

Re: input question in cubase
Check your monitor settings in Cubase, and in your sound card interface if you have one. If you need more detail, I'll check my Cubase setup at home and get back to you.

Wow - that's really great.
Who was it on the board that had the sig file "That's the consequence you'll pay, as long as you get the sound of it blowing up on tape"?

Re: conan w/sonic youth
I keep seeing this thread title and thinking it means that Conan O'Brien is playing with Sonic Youth, and I get a funny mental image of Thurston and the gang, with big goofy Conan in his suit and tie and big goofy hair, rocking out a hot-rodded beat-up Jazzmaster to "Expressway To Yr Skull" or somet...

"I distrust a close-mouthed man. He generally picks the wrong time to talk and says the wrong things. Talking's something you can't do judiciously, unless you keep in practice. I'll tell you right out, I'm a man who likes talking to a man who likes to talk." -Kasper Gutman (Sydney Greenstreet) in "T...
