I got my ML52 at GC for $200. Are they not running that deal anymore?

Re: Soundcraft spirit M8 or Mackie Onyx 1620?
I've been using that M12, which I've been very happy with. But I ocassionaly wish I'd picked up the allen and heath, which has bussing. But it sounds great, eq is nice, etc. No complaint except that I have to use the aux sends to "buss." Picked it up used for $500, too.

Noisy Vox Pathfinder?
I know a bunch of you have those solid state pathfinder 15s. Mine had a bunch of hum, but I figured it was my location, which often picks up lots of interference. But then I tried it elsewhere and it was just as bad. Other amps at this other place are dead quiet. Anyone else having this kind of trou...

Re: If you need a new mixing desk for your UFO...
..speaking of sixties .. Ooo. For when Batman and Alfred decide they need to remix Madona's latest hit. But as far as that UFO thing goes...I checked it out at AES and it was pretty impressive, at least in terms of functionality. I have no idea what it sounds like, but you can do some pretty cool s...

Re: Little labs red-eye
I've used both and really, I don't think there's a difference, soundwise. But you have to consider that it doesn't have a DI, and Redeye does. The reamp felt a bit more solid, though, and I always like that.

Re: #of stereo tracks vs. # of mono tracks
I guess I kind of don't get it.... I record stereo (two mics....space pair, xy, whathaveyou) to a stereo track, usually a pair of room mics to a stereo track, ocassionally the stereo out of my TX81Z (DX&) keyboard and FX returns. I don't see why I'd want any of that stuff on a pair of mono tracks......

Re: Tube Mic with Tube Pre-amp??? too much?
[quote}I ran the mic, a MXL 2001 w/ the Royer mod through an Altec 1567a, a LA2A, and two Pultec EQs in bypass mode, basically everything tube I had. The end result sounded pretty "vintage".[/quote] Holly shit...you HAVE all that stuff? And your mic is the royer modded 2001? Don't get me wrong, I us...

Re: Little labs red-eye
Yeah, I've got one. I don't really have any "trick" per se. I really like the unit and I use it quite a lot. I mostly use it when tracking bass....DI through to recorder and 1/4" out to amp. Sweet. I also use it for reamping a lot. But I guess those are kind of the two applications it's meant for. N...

Upgraded Epiphone Sheraton for sale
I'm about to post a few items locally but wanted to offer this one to the TO community first, since I think it's a great guitar and a cheap price. It's a blonde Epiphone Sheraton, 335 style. Don't let the "Epiphone" scare you off: this guitar is sweet. Great craftsmanship (can't find any flaws in th...

Apex, actually. But they could just as well form an equilateral triangle pointing straight.bombastique wrote:tilt them in. they should form an equilateral triangle with you at one of the apexes (apexii?).

I've been tilting them in, but sometimes I start to think they should be facing straight. What do you guys do?

Re: How often have you said...
My trouble seems to be that I get miscredited. On a record that I did some overdubs for and mixed, I got "engineered by so and so, additional engineering by David Lander." Additional engineering? Are you kidding? And that was on a total salvage job. I've also got "recorded by" on records I recorded ...
