Yes! That is exactly the kind of display I need!! As I mentioned I really need a stand-alone file player, not a plug-in, but that works for now. I'll reiterate how it's amazing that this doesn't exist in this day and age. I will have to tell my programmer buddies so we can write one. Thanks so much,...

Does a good, simple, open-source spectrum analyzer exist?

Hi all, I know this seems simple, but I spent and hour and I could not find anopen-source, simple, stand alone spectrum analyzer, for Windows XP to solve this problem. Of course, there are a million different programs with tons of features, but I couldn't find a good one that simply does what I need...

Needed?

Hey Asouth,
If you PM me your e-mail I'd be happy to send over a few tracks that I've done live mixes for. Also, I'd be down to do a preview mix of one of your tracks if you send over the multi-wavs.

Classical concert setup diagram! Suggestions?

Hello all, I am going to be recording a classical concert this weekend and I thought that I would see if anyone has any thoughts on my proposed setup. BELOW is a picture that I made quickly in PAINT. It is not accurate by any means, (dimensions, etc). but the general setup is there. It is a 100 voic...

Microphone overload/attenuation switch question

Hi all, I was wondering is anyone has something to say about microphone overload and the use of the attenuation switch. I have never had an audible problem with my KSM-27 but I wanted to find what others think. I have tested the mic with the same sound source and all I can hear is a little more ART ...

Re: How often have you said...

*correction: I meant to say that there have been plenty of records that turned out badly because of playing, poor engineering (which we would of course never do), and engineering that cant "fix it". I try to do the best job I can but the fact is there is crap out there that makes it.

Re: How often have you said...

I have to agree with those who've said to put your name on everything. Im not saying you should get credit you don't deserve (producing) but who can predict what is going to be huge? Even if it sounds bad to you, it may not sound bad to "normal" people, as someone said. We all know that there have b...

Question about digital sync...

If I use an M-Audio Flying Cow (2 chan. AD converter) (don't laugh at me I really need 2 more tracks available this weekend) and I use the SPDIF out to SPDIF in on a Delta 1010 (8 channel AD card), will there be a sync issue with all 10 tracks recording in Logic Audio at once? The manual says that i...

Re: How do you feel about the SSL GC900

IF IF IF the preamps and EQ are what they claim to be (same as the 9000) and I would HAVE to hear them to beleive it, it MIGHT be worth 1/4 of the price (84k -- with NO options I think). I agree with those who've said that they could afford a dream for this price that would do/be so much more than t...
