The Delta units are old, but still seem pretty solid. I had one of the smaller cards, and never a complaint about it. Were you auditioning your friend's PT rig in your room, or a different room? I'd seriously look at the room first, monitors second. EDIT: I have a pair of the Event PS-8 monitors, a...

I would say your reference monitors (and yes room treatment). The Delta 1010's just seem to stand the test of time. It's really hard to get a solid 8 channel AD/DA without paying for a bunch of useless junk nowadays. I worked on a Delta 1010 for years, and it took spending thousands more (Lynx) befo...

I have a few guitar amps at my place, but the one that gets the most 'All around' use, would be my Fender Blues Jr. NOS (deluxe nowadays)

Great reverb, basic EQ control, good from complete tube saturation to open clean tones.

Indeed it was.

It was that inter-dialog stuff, which helps absolutely nobody.

I use those pads all the time for my api's coming from shure 141's on snare. Phantom seems to hold up ok, hmm? I would have thought the same thing if it happened to me. Strange As to say, if it happened to me I would have also suspected the phantom power. Laugh it up, just trying to agree with your...

From Nuendo 3 to Cubase 6 "What will I miss? (if anythi

So I have been using Nuendo 3 for about 4-5 years now, and find it a more than adequate tool for my DAW needs. I rarely use Nuendo for scoring, or audio post (not once in the last 3 years). I work with a Lynx Aurora 16 on a PC, and use mostly VST, and Waves PlugIns. I do enjoy VSTis on almost every ...

Just trying to utilize the gear I currently have, but as I suspected it will take a complete redo of my cable set up.

Thanks again

Simple Patchbay question, need help.

I have never used a patch bay in my own place, but it?s time to start. Here is a basic question about the abilities of a basic stock 48 point bay. (Neutrik, DBX, Switchcraft, ect) When using TRS insert cables (y-cables) http://www.sweetwater.com/images/items/350/IPTBQXFXM10.jpg , are most bays able ...

?Overdubs? when enough is enough.

Maybe I have found limitations in my mixing ability I didn?t know I had, but lately I have been trying to be a little more forthcoming when I believe we have tracked everything we need. It?s a tricky business, because in fact it?s a business, and if they (clients) want to pay for more time to overdu...

I'm now actually looking at the BAE DMP or 1073MP. I was under the impression the BAE products were all significantly higher priced than Vintech's, but it seems that's not the case. If Vintech sold a single channel 1073 without EQ, I'd be fine. It'd be really nice to have EQ, but since money is a f...
