WTB: Crown D-75A
Hello all! I've had this pair of vintage school auditoriom style portable speakers that I want to drive with a Crown D-75A. These latch-together cabinets are loaded with Jensen C12R's and I can't drive them hard - 25w RMS and 50w musical power. The interWebs are saying that the late D-75A was made i...

Free Robins TK-7 Tape Kare Kit to a good home
Hey All! I'm not a tape guy so I'm just trying to find a good home for this rather than chucking it in the trash. I'm guessing it was a top of the line consumer kit in its day. My clutter is your throwback display item! The two leftmost Hepthane based items are long evaporated but the other two are ...

Re: Legacy DAW progs/interface?
I've been using Cakewalk/Sonar since version 2.
When I got serious about it, I built a dedicated WinXP Pro tracking workstation.
It is running Sonar 8 Producer and twin Aardvark Q10's @ 24/48.
I've since built a monster post machine but I've got to tell you, that tracking setup just works...

Re: Multiple 48v Phantom devices in recording chain...
Thanks Nick!
The RP-220 has upgraded op amps and tubes and the clocks in the two Aardvarks are rock solid and produce a great stereo image - that's why I don't mess with that setup. It just works...
Igor was the designer of the Aardvarks and today he is known as "Antelope Audio".
Cheers!

Multiple 48v Phantom devices in recording chain...
Although my tracking workstation is getting old, it works well just the way it is. I've build a post workstation to handle everything else. I'd like to be able to track this way: Mic > Bellari RP-220 > Aardvark Q10 I've never gotten my brain around the "Who is suppling the 48v in this chain?" questi...

Re: "What Is Mastering?" article
Well written and about as broad as I have ever heard it put.
+1 on this:
"but knowing the 5% of the time not to use it is just as important."
To me, knowing what NOT to do is just as important as knowing what TO do. I think that drives efficiency.

There is something to be said about simplicity. The landing page says what you do and how you do it. The soundcloud mixes are beautiful and very relaxing. A great way to spend a Sunday morning. When I'm not pretending to be a small-time recordist, I pretend to be a developer. I'm selective about the...

Looking for Tube Tester in Phoenix area
Just picked all this stuff at auction for $15.00. I put in the minimum bid of $5.00 and won all three. I'm feeling really lucky at this point. http://www.MusicInPhoenix.com/TempPics/LooseTubes.jpg http://www.MusicInPhoenix.com/TempPics/TubesInBoxes.jpg http://www.MusicInPhoenix.com/TempPics/NavyTube...

Re: cleaning the drawbar contacts on keys of hammond organ?
Daniel - Thanks for the M3 manual. I just picked up a 1956 blonde M3 in great condition for free. Hasn't been run on a decade and the manual will help. I can host the PDF Files on one of my sites. I have the standard B3/C3 manual - about 40 pages or so. The sendspace M-3 file - at 232MB - must be ei...

Headphone Repair
Greetings - I have 2 AKG C-270's headphones. One was given to me in a non-functional state but appears to be a cable problem. I have had the other pair for about 5 years and now the cable sounds like Rice Crispies. After UTFSE and not seeing anything just wondering who knows what to avoid when solde...
