So it definitely looks cool with the VU meters.....

Any reviews or thoughts on the ART VLA that you people purchased. I have 2 FMR RNC's that I really like however my other comp. is a much dreaded 266xl. I definitely need more decent compressors other than the 2 RNC's. The RNC'S are too transparent for some stuff (like edgy almost shrill male vocals ...

Re: Do RNC Compressors usually act kind of funny?

I have 2 both used and they work rather well. I have yet to hear mine crap out w/ too much bass. I missed the part in the manual about the release being too fast on low freq. stuff, can result in clicking. However I'm very glad this was pointed out to me. Maybe since my manual is from the first mode...

Re: How do you use reverb?

Yes, I agree with the general concessus I also use verb very sparingly. Adam can you give me a little more detail on this: Get a slight doubler for the vocals (hard panned--slight but not OBVIOUS) right now I'm delaying my vocals straight up the middle, are you saying to put the lead vox hard panned...

How do you use reverb?

How do you use reverb? I have been putting a bit of a small hardwood room program on the music (drums, guitar, & bass) & lil bit of delay on lead vocals. I was thinking it would be cool to have a whole other unit for backing vocals or maybe lead vocals. With different settings and what not. So what ...

I need help selecting a parametric EQ

I would like to find a decent 2 ch. parametric EQ for less than $300.00 or less. Is that possible or should I save my money? By the way I am not a pro nor do I ever plan to be. Heres what it would be used for: I take all my basic analog tracks and mix them down to 2 tracks.(reel to reel) Than I reco...

Re: Help I have to record an ACDC cover band

Dry drums and a very very tight hihat sound when closed. Moderate overdriven rythm guitar. Lead guitar pushed harder however not quite distorted. Leads pushed even more w/ some verb for that big sound. Bass seems kinda dull to me? guitars panned hard right and left, there is a lil bit of Angus's gui...

Has anybody ever used a home style organ?

I'm trying to get familiar w/ old organ sounds and equipment. So you could say I really don't know much other than the brand names and a few specific models. I can't even tell the difference on a recording between a Hammond, Wurlitzer, or Rhodes, witch I'm not even sure is considered an organ it's m...

Any roland rs-5 keyboard users out there?

Does anybody know what the wattage would be on the 9 volt power adapter? I have recently aquired one w/ no manual or power adapter. the keyboard says 1000 ma & 9 volt but fails to mention the wattage requirements.I think they do that on purpose so they can get $50.00 for an adapter that cost less th...
