Try this as an alternative: -- leave your monitor wiring as is (i.e., don't invert the phase of one monitor) -- track the vocal with the monitors as loud as you like (avoiding feedback, for obvious reasons) -- record a second track with EVERYTHING set exactly the same, except flip the phase on the ...

Sounds like a fancy way of saying "equalize" since that is process where parts of the audio 'spectrum' are boosted or cut to 'correct' the sound. Where did you see the reference? -Jeremy Actually I have to define the term for a class and I missed the part of class that it was soken of. I assumed it...

Spectral Correction
What exactly does this term mean in the mastering process?
Is it to make everything sound like it is in phase?

Build it yourself!
I think it would be great, and if enough of us want it, maybe Larry and Hillary would consider adding it. (?)

Re: "Can't you just use a plug-in"?
I dont hate plug ins, but I think they are viewed as an easy way out, sometimes.
There are instances where they are very helpful, and work great.
But you are right, IF it sounds good, then hey, why not.

"Can't you just use a plug-in"?
This seemed to be the question of the day asked by yesterday's client, being that he asked it for almost everything we did.
Instead of doing things right from the get-go, it seems some people are relying on plug-ins to fix the f-ups more and more.

it may be overdone, but can be exactly what the song needs. i still see clients come through who want that for certain parts. its a good idea to be able to provide it. so rock on with your CB sound.

Good for electric guitars. outside of a kickdrum (but you might want to use a windscreen), try as an overhead too.

Re: Service Pack 2 killed my WAVES Compressor?
I always tell people who use their computers for audio, to please stay away from these service packs. I have yet to see that they benefit DAW's in anyway. If you are using your DAW for internet and other use, i would suggest going to the salvation army or second hand store of choice, and buying an o...
