This man shaped my ears and inspired me beyond words. Even before I knew who he was, I had been listening to his work for years and it has been the soundtrack to my life. This dude saw it, lived it...he was there during some of the most rock n roll rock n roll moments. What an incredible legacy, an...

re:Demos for real people about real people

really liked "What kind of girl"!............overall I liked the sound on all of your posted songs....especially for being mixed to cassette. Recognition doesn't determine how good recordings are. The main reason to record your own music is to bring to life your own vision (with the equipment you ha...

I bought a tc 353d last year off ebay, taking a chance, knowing nothing about it. I love it! Granted, it is my first open reel deck so I don't have a 30ips machine to compare it to. I don't really track with it but use it primarily to warm up digital mixes (and for just casually listening to music t...

Born in '71 also, can totally relate to the nostalgia factor........songs from the 70's remind me of sitting in the back seat of my parents '70 Monte Carlo listening to the AM car radio

"If that doesn't work, I recommend Cool Edit Pro 2.1, which has been very cheap on EBay, and which I chose over Wavelab 4." I second the suggestion about Cool Edit Pro 2.1. I have had nothing but good experiences with that software. I don't hear much about people using it on this forum and am glad w...

Jeff Beck Yardbirds era---I just love the raw recordings of early psychadelic guitar sounds on "I'm a Man, "Shapes of Things", "Evil Hearted You", "Train Kept a Rollin'"........etc

Re: Anyone here want to leave the country? (or lives in anot

I am so relieved to hear some people as outraged as I am about those 2 Nazis being reelected. It angers me how dumb the American population really is. As I advance in age I have less and less faith in humanity. How could anyone with 1/2 an education vote to reelect those crooked bastards. I don't bl...

What are you using for an operating system? Have you optimized your computer for audio use?

stereo miking of drums

I am relatively new to recording drums live. I was wondering if stereo overheads would have to be of the same type of microphone. I don't have two of the same and I was wondering if it is feasible to use 1 condensor and 1 dynamic? Any tips would be appreciated.
