Ah, wonderful. Many thanks Jeff. This will definitely be a time saver in the long run.
So long then.

Syncing Two Akai DPS16s
Well ladies gents, I have a question regarding the possibility of syncing two DAWs. I have an Akai DPS16 which I will be using for tracking drums. This session will be in a new space and using some unfamiliar equipment for a side project that my mate heads up. What I would like to do is set up multi...

Well the special edition of Some Cities comes with a 'making of the album' DVD. Now while there are no sections of the film where any one of them are saying, "I ran this mic through that compressor and it's hitting the tape blah blah blah" they do a lot of the actual recording themselves (always hav...

I don't have the drive in front of ma at the moment and need asolution quick, fast and in a hurry or I can't get much done today. Thank you ...

Re: Tom Waits, Real Gone
Well in the most recent issue of TapeOp they have a short interview with Jaquire King (sp)? who engineers for Tom Waits on many an occasion. His records are a good example of using the room to colour and create the sound as much as the sound itself.

If you would be so kind as to find out, it would be much appreciated. Interesting note: AKG has reissued the black model C3000Bs.

Re: Doves (the band)
I agree, this band is amazing. Their production is always great. I especially love the almost "pocket recorder" sound of some of the acoustic tracks on Last Broadcast. i think a tape op interview is mandatory :) Alright I'm going to pursue this. How cool would that be to get the answers to all of t...

Re: Just Curious...
I was actually quoting a friend of mine by posting that statement, Larry. I agree with him for the most part and it should be understood that he (and myself) both take the time to listen to the band, ask questions, choose mics and placement carefully, make sure the sound is to their liking etc. But ...

Re: Just Curious...
I personally think "RAW" should come from YOU and not the recording. I guess it depends on whether you think your record should sound like a recording of the event, or sound like the event itself. I like records that sound right there in my living room. Not in someone elses living room... (for the ...

AKG C3000B (pair)
Anyone have or know someone else who has a used pair of AKG C3000B mics with shockmounts that they want to sell? I have one on loan from a friend at the moment and I've quickly fallen in love with this mic for drums. Last weekend I used it as a single overhead to mic up an entire kit (my LDC test fo...
