My DAW never touches the internet. all files are scanned on a separate system that has AV on it before they see the DAW (then transferred via USB keys). guess what? My system is not bogged down with extraneous services, spyware, and other crap. Sure its less convenient than having it directly conne...

Definitely worth the price of admission. (though I got my copy as a Christmas gift from a client I had planned to buy it myself so it was especially appreciated).

The foam in my mic was sort of a crumbly glob so I had no choice but to remove all of it. I never did replace the foam the mic works fine without it re:'plosives and such. However if the foam on your RE-20 is bad I'd remove it and see about replacement foam from EV or Bosch since it's a much better ...

agreed on the foam. I inherited a really cherry early '60s 664 that sounded horrible, so I thought it was toast. Opened it up and found all the caked up decayed foam, removed it and cleaned the element up and it worked great.

I have a matched pair of SR71s (Cardioid) and the 25R drum kit. I like EW mics a lot and use them on many sources.

I emailed them a couple of years ago when I was in the market for new monitors and never got a response. Too bad, I really was hoping to hear them.

I'm only posting this response so I'll get to my next rank sooner. Pushin' record sucks. Hopefully I'll finally start to get taken seriously around here, unlike this newbie: http://messageboard.tapeop.com/viewtopic.php?t=67520 I can only dream that one day I'll be promoted to "pushin' record".

I'd certainly love to have a copy of the handouts. I'm envious that you were a student of Malcom's.

I dunno, I've certainly had periods where I've wondered why the hell am I bothering. But really I love to record, mix, produce, play, etc. Whenever I've felt that way I've worked to narrow down specifics on what about my mixes I didn't like and went to work on acquiring more knowledge in that area a...

I had a Terratec EWS 88D that I used to transfer tracks from an ADAT to my DAW. It was pretty simple and worked fine. Long out of production I'm sure but if you can find one it's about as bare bones as you can get for use with a single ADAT http://www.musiciansnews.com/18/ews88d_adat_spdif_i_o_card....
