Hey guys. Glad you are digging that record. For chris I used a hand held sm57 into some mic pre just getting blasted. Chris eats the mic and screams into it. He also cups it and basically mishandles the thing really well. :) For dave I used a groove tubes MD1a original into a VTL era Manley tube mon...

The high rotational speeds have always led to higher failure rates for me. I have been using enterprise grade drives for the system and I also have my own server setup at the studio that is backing up the whole facility every hour and on a 24 hour schedule to multiple drobos with enterprise grade dr...

I have pretty much been using the AKG BX10 spring for almost every single thing I mix. The combo of that, a roland SRV2000, and a PCM70, along with a few resonant/crazy/wrong spings I have used for years and I am pretty set. I also really like the UAD EMT stuff (plate and 250), and of course, Sean a...

I like that box. i always have. Tiled room and a few other weirdo things work quite well. The gold foil plate is nice also.
The compressor can do crazy stuff.

I am a huge fan of the 160a/x/xt and I have owned a zillion different units over the years. I have a couple right now of the "X" revision, and we own a couple of the "XT" and a couple of the "A" as well. honestly, they are pretty much interchangeable. Let me qualify: The variation between units is n...

So I just brought this up in another thread, and I thought it might benefit a few people. I have my own server setup thee days for Studio G Brooklyn, and it is working quite well. I went through a bunch of hardware and software before I landed on an Xserve with enterprise grade drives in it. I didnt...

The apollo rules. I use the UAD stuff constantly. (full disclosure, I have an artist deal with them)... but I loved the stuff before I got a deal on it! Here is the big thing I have figured out with drives... after running my own server for quite a while now, and developing the kit needed to keep it...

I owned one of those for years. I bet Mike Rippe at analog audio repair could fix it up for you... or at least help you out. He is located in my studio, in the tech room... mjrippe@gmail.com Check with him. I liked the compressor on that box, and I am sad I ever got rid of mine. It was made by Glens...
