So what mics are you using? If your using a patchbay, does it only happen when you use that path? Maybe your patching backwards. - The only time I'v seen this happen is tracking horns through an RCA 44, and recording a bass that I later realized I had been patching backwards (ie: out the in ).

What Mics are you using? Are you compressing going in?
