David at Thinbrownline is nice and quite reasonable. And he's on the left coast.

Does Logic not have a consolidate function? Bouncing every track in real time would make me want to throw myself out the window. Yes. Export All Tracks as Audio Files: Cmd Shift E. Of course this only works if you are not using any outboard processing, in which case, yes, you have to bounce ...

Agreed on adding extra length. I just recently had to remake two 24-channel runs due to a reconfiguration and even if you're going to punchdown, prep on 144 points is a pain, yet somehow zenfully satisfying.

I used a heavy duty staple gun when attaching 2 x 2's to plywood (also used a bit of glue to help hold things in place. It's held for several years now.

So many tricks. So many fake knobs, etc. If you know what your client is looking for, it's terrible easy to give it to them. If they need more bottom, the volume knob is the easy cure. It's called "Fourth of July."

Plus one or more on this book being a completely fantastic read on how to get things done and how to know you're doing it "right." Any ethical issues of manipulating people's music is up to you, the mixer/producer. I'm about 1/2 way through right now. I'll update my thoughts if they change after the...

Dry

I don't see the problem. Take the dry signal and make that the DI. Then run into the effects into the amp so you have the guitarist working with the effects. Note your settings and start from there (or not) when you are reamping. I pretty much take that approach. Sometimes, I'll take the signal from...

100!

I was looking for a thread to jump on and add my congratulations to you guys for this landmark issue. It's been a long amazing ride since I first saw your mag at Studio G somewhere around 2001-ish. I don't know where I'd be without the community that the magazine and the TOMB created.

Thanks.

A lot!

Copying VCC instances is not as "good" as reinstantiating, or option-instantiating. It seems to me that copying makes VCC's grouping think it's the same plug in.
