Re: Best D.I.Y. Neve Kit (complete) ?

Actually the "kit" is available now & shipping. It does not come with everything you need to complete the project, you still need to source the caps, resistors, meters, chassis & things like that. But they include the key components, transformer, FET, Diodes, PCB, etc... Looks like it could be a rea...

Re: Best D.I.Y. Neve Kit (complete) ?

Has anyone built one of these yet ?

Appears to be a combo 1176 + Neve output stage.

Re: Flexidiscs anyone?

EvaTone was the company & sadly they stopped making Flexidiscs a few years back.
I wish you could still get them made too, I liked them alot - cool little records.

Far as I know, no one else makes them.

I believe EvaTone's reason for stopping was there was not enough demand for them anymore.

Best D.I.Y. Neve Kit (complete) ?

I am looking for a good Do It Yourself Neve Pre-Amp Kit... I know there are many sites offering schematics, plans, parts lists & what not, but I always seem to get stuck on sourcing a few of the parts or a PCB or transformer... Is there anywhere that offers a [Good Quality] complete kit? PCB, parts,...

Re: Best board for 16-track R2R under 2 grand?

id have to recomend trying to find an old soundworkshop...but thats just me. I'll second that one. I am on a limited budget myself, but have had a Series 20 for a few years now. It sounds so warm & fat plus it's an easy board to work on. So you can customize it & recap it for even better sound. I u...

Re: TL-Audio M-3 Mixer.

Oh man, them Chandler Limited MiniTG mixers sure seem cool. http://www.chandlerlimited.com/products/minitgrackmixer.php But damn, around $5k ??? Is there anything 'affordable' (under $2k) that is analog, sounds good, great EQ.. Etc... 8 channels w/ a 2 buss would be fine. I'm guessing I'm go with so...

Re: TL-Audio M-3 Mixer.

Hmmm, yeah I read somewhere that the EQ was not spectacular, but that it was a good sounding board overall... I'd like something small, ANALOG, warm sounding with sweepable or really funky EQ. All I need are 8-10 channels, gimme direct outs so I can track to Tape & we got a mixer for me. Considering...

Re: TL-Audio M-3 Mixer.

Dunno, I'd love to hear about it though...

I'm eyeballing it too, as a replacement to my 20 channel console.
Still kinda pricey but hmmm....

I just want something to track to my 8 track (1") tape machine with, maybe mixback with as well.

How close to the real thing do UAD-1 Plug-In's sound?

Just curious if anyone can comment on how close to the "Real thing" do plug-ins on the UAD-1 sound?

i.e. the 1176, Pultec, Joe Meek, etc...

The Studio Pak sure has some nice lookin plug-ins...

I'm rebuilding my digital setup & am considering the UAD-1 & a 002.
