Mix Feedback... Beatles, Left Banke, Beach Boys, Zombies
I've finally finalized mixes and would be appreciative of some feedback before I go to master. I'll have one more mixing session to make any changes. Thanks in advance. I'm curious what you think of overall levels, vocal reverb and how leads are sitting, ALSO drum/snare levels etc. and whatever thou...

Advice on mixing piano
Happy with mixes on my new record but feel the piano sounds little dull and flat on these tracks. We recorded a grand with two 414s. The piano is mixed fairly spread out. A bit of natural reverb from the room we cut in. Would a bit of plate open it up? EQ? Any advice? Needs bunch and more vibrance. ...

Thanks for the kind words, please keep the feedback coming. I've spent the last two years writing and recording this record... most of the overdubs at home and really want it be as good as it can be. Petsounds, Odyssey and Oracle, Sgt Pepper are all influences.

I'm especially looking at how the vocals are sitting.. too up front, too low.. etc. Any advice and perceptions are appreciated. My sounds is very late 60s Beach Boys, Beatles, Zombies...

Recording accordian with Apogee Duet
Any tips? My main question is this.. I have an AT 4050 that I want to use on it but it is not a pair only one mic. Should I use that and just record in mono? Or would I be better off recording in stereo but using my other mic with it (an SM57). I also have a RHode NT1 I could pair with it for a ster...

Brian Wilson- Petsounds guitar sound
Anyone know what the guitar sound is (type of guitar, how it was recorded) on Petsounds by the Beach Boys. I've read it is a 12 string but thats as far as I know. Trying to emulate that beautiful, shimmery tone on Sloop John B. Is it doubled?

So which mac to buy?
I was looking at this 4GB Imac but it only has the one Firewire Port and not sure if I can add an additional Firewire port on a separate bus on my own. http://store.apple.com/us/product/FB418LL/A?mco=MjE0NjA3MA I could spend more for a MacBook Pro but the portability isn't really necessary fo rme an...

USB and Firewire options
I am choosing between an Imac for $1200 with one 800 FW port and one400 FW Port. And an iMac for $1000 with one 800 FW Port and a USB 2.0 Port. If I am understanding correctly even though the first options has 2 firewire ports because they run on the same buss it would be slow and not have any real ...
