I think generally (unless otherwise specified) the EH change from older big stainless steel box to little die cast metal box means they are changing from all-analog to a digital innards format. I might be wrong but this is what I have been given to believe without actually buying the new little peda...

Dead refrigerator as cab/mic isolation chamber
Just tossing this in the mix of ideas. I wonder if anybody's tried it. Fun game: iPhone running iTalk Lite (free recording app) in one corner of room. Zoom h2 recording in other corner. Band playing live between the two devices. Drag tracks into DAW. Time stretch them slightly for alignment. Mix to taste. I did this recently and although it wasn't textbook, it did give...

The industry has changed, CD sales are down, blah blah blah but: I think a key factor in our perception of the industry is that we can now click around on the myspaces and see all the obscure bands with tiny audiences, see what they're up to, etc. (Whereas in the late 1970s, say, everybody was isola...

Re: actual holding of recorder in hand while recording: Pretty much not, I'd say, based on the H2. Even if you avoid the bumpy sounds, which takes some concentration, you'll still get the weird phasey artifacts if you move at all. Luckily the world is full of surfaces to set things on, and gravity t...
