6 Vintage Siemens Compressors
Hi - thought I'd let you guys know about these. Circa mid - late 70's - from a console. Planned to rack them - but never got around to it. In Aust - but postage shouldn't be too bad for O/S - about 4 kg all up. Please write with any questions - cheers, rich http://cgi.ebay.com.au/vintage-siemens-com...

Grandaddy effect on "I'm OK with my decay"
Hi all - I suppose I should post this under the listening forum also? I'm a big fan of Grandaddy - and have always been really struck by the prominent, effected backing vocals that come in after the chorus in this track. They have a really specific mood - which to me mirrors that early 80's real, in...

Lots of good advice here. I can offer this. I am a drummer - and in my youth was obsessed with getting a resonant 'boom' out of my 24x14 Rogers. I had a d112. Pre, room, compression - whatever it sure as shit wasn't going to happen with this mic and i figure it won't work for you. It's a modern kick...

'nebraska' will stand up in history as the greatest recording springsteen ever made. there's nothing kitchy or retro in that album - it's dodged the issue of being dated to a time - most likely because, initially - it wasn't intended to be an album (as i understand it). the band recorded a version o...

B&O BM3 schematic/block diagram?
hi guys. i have a bm3 ribbon mic- and oddly enough the ribbon is in fine shape - however the fine, hair-like wiring has become brittle and has come apart from the transformer and tmo & impedence switches. I have looked all over the net for a schematic to help figure out the wiring - but have had no ...

Oh yeah - i also just remebered - it's also part of bonham mythology? that he could capably bust a 26 inch Vistalite bass drum shell (at the spur mounts) on any given gig. Bonham wwas stong and Vistalites are not - I figure he went through more than a few. Although I've never seen pictures of him wi...

I'm open to (inevitable?) contradiction - but I've read that Bonham never recorded with Vistalites. He apparently stuck with either the maple finish 24 x 14, 15 x 12 , 16 x 16, 18 x 16, 14 x 6.5 kit of the very early years or the green sparkle - 26 x 14, 14 x 10, 16 x 16, 18 x 16, 14 x 6.5? kit.
