the m audio card has mic pre in it, that maybe why your worried bout distortion, you might have to udjust your settings on the card, trail n error, youll get the sound you want.... i plan on getting the hvtp as well and the emu 1212m card, so i can upgrade to the 1820m later... kinda looking to grad...
