Re: poor man's leslie?
I'm imagining something with a handheld wireless and a Sit 'n Spin here.....
"Quick, print it before I barf"
Or one could duct tape an SM57 to a crap mic cable and swing it around ones head?
Neither of these would be fast enough to sound like a rotovibe or leslie....

Don't have any experience with the 319, Have not found a use for a C1000 yet (YMMV, but IME they have a certain omnipresent suckiness that turns me off), On average, the AT3035 has overacheived for me (strummy pop-coustic, mono overhead in a pinch, gtr cab, non-featured vocals....again, YMMV). As a ...

Re: So, I got to work in a "real" studio ...
The nicer mics and pres gave me better sounds much faster, and they were a blast to use, but they were still mics. They do the same thing my mics do - record sounds. They might do a better job, but whatever. Same deal. Sometimes faster is the key. If a nicer mic can save an artist a few takes here ...

Re: Production Cliches
Basically my aesthetic is that dynamic is cool. Lack of dynamic is tiring. I'd rather tread across a bajillion dynamic trite-isms than suffer a single song of non-dynamic. Sucks for me, cuz the non-dynamic aesthetic has been "in" since the early nineties. The pendulum's gotta swing. I remember one ...

I had a celestion go bad in a marshall combo pretty soon after an intense bass-thru-guitar amp recording. Coincidence?

Re: Fender Gtr. Amp Choices
my favorite fender is the "evil" twin 1970's silverface. i have been giging with one for the past seven years, and love it. it is hella loud, but capable of some nice tones. i use it to compete with two dudes cranking a green amp, and a full stack ampeg svt. works for me... Dude, they let you say h...

Re: producer deals
Any deal that I've ever seen/heard of has producer royalties from record one. And that includes several all-in bundled deals where the producer owned the studio/engineered or partnered with a studio.

Re: SansAmp: your uses?
Wild, I haven't used mine in ages. Forgot I had them.....
The last time I had great success was with Bass multed to Sansamp and Countryman into 2 channels, mixed to one track. Sansamp sounded pretty neat-o, but I needed to have the uncolored DI sound to embiggen the sound the right way....

Re: FS: Sound Workshop 1280 and mic pres
Hi- Clearing out stuff I'm not using right now..... I have pics of everything upon request. Soundworkshop 1280 with meter bridge and the 12-ch expander. The main unit has 8 of the fancy eq's. Everything works, in decent condition. Best offer on this one, I don't honestly know what it's worth. 2x OS...
