JBL / Urei 7110 compressors and a rack

Howdy folks- I have four JBL / Urei 7110 compressors that I am selling. All of them have the optional transformer fitted. I have eight more of these in another rack, so I'll move those into the CR when these go. They are really flexible compressors- they have a detector circuit that can be dialed in...

Rehearsal space available in Oakland, CA

Howdy folks- I am nearing completion on the construction of 34 new rehearsal studios next door to my current recording / rehearsal facility. It's going to allow me to move all of our current rehearsal tenants out of the old building so that I can have an improved, super quiet environment for recordi...

the flip side of that is that pretty much anything you buy that is music related halves in value when its out the door. The only exceptions I can think of are Apogee boxes and musicman basses. They only lose 30% value. Huh, this is not my experience at all. I could sell any of my guitars for more t...

One thing I'd say, is if you do indeed "save" the money, make sure you actually save it. It's so easy to think you are going to be good and put cash away, only to let it dribble out and get nothing, rather than at least having something to show for it (and re-sell in a pinch).

Also, rather than ask: If so, then each member will be allowed ______ drinks. Please describe food accommodations if any: I would attach a rider with what their food and beverage needs are. Money is rough on the live circuit, demand food and drink. They may cross that section out before signing, but...

I can't comment on the bass cabs, but I will say that I love their guitar cabs. I have three of them that spend part of their time at the studio, and part of their time on the road. They sound great and have held up well on the road.

I dunno, I never have cared for the breakdown. It feels awkward to me, especially the synth thing. But them girls can sing!

I agree with Bluesman- there's no need to go out in flames. However, if your lease states "no music before 5:30 m-f", then you have an understanding in writing. I really don't think it matters whether your business is "legitimate" or not- for all the landlord and city know, you are just recording yo...

Yeah, you are thinking of the D-112, the D-12 is long discontinued.

It's ok, but I vastly prefer the Purple Audio version that came with our PT system. Does that one come with LE too? It seems to do the "nuke" thing better than the regular BF- I don't notice the difference as much in more normal settings.

Finding old stuff that somehow passed you by can be really awesome. I didn't get into Big Star until a few years back- when I did, I listened to those first two records over and over again. Moby Grape and the Traveling Wilburys come to mind too. Lots of others.

It seems like every extension cable under the sun is poorly made. I wouldn't be surprised if you have more than one that has gone south at the same(ish) time. I tried making some nice ones with those Neutrik connectors that lock on, and damned if they weren't long for the world either.

I haven't heard this record yet, but I did use their last album as a yardstick of a LOUD album. If I recall, some songs reached -5 rms. I had just received an album back from a mastering guy and needed a way to quantify how bad of a job he had done, so I was comparing lots of stuff with the meters. ...

Yowsa. I have never done this, but as a TSM owner, I should warn you to be very careful with the console as it is craned- especially while unloaded. It is pretty easy to flex the frame and getting it "true" again is nigh on impossible. This happened to my console back when it was first installed and...
