As stated above the "S" in SATA stands for serial. SO Serial ATA drives are the next generation and will be phasing out ATA in the future. Here is a little blog from Tom's Hardware Guide. Hmm...unless you get a card that has 24 digital to analog converters you might want to just look into the tascam software. They have some software for doing edits and mixing through the HD2424. In order to use your board you might have to customize it with some VCA (voltage controlled amplifiers). I...

Program the Tascam US-428 / Cubase
I want to find out how / if the Tascam US-428 can be programed to control Cubase other than the stock options. For instance, I would like to have some of the buttons perform different functions than what they are set up to do. Anyone?
