I've had pretty good luck with Seagate's higher end drives. Make sure you get something that's at least 7200RPM, if not 10000 RPM.

Online Subscription Errors

Hey, I've been trying to update my subscription. If I try to do anything regarding a free subscription, I get MySQL connection errors. If I try to do a paid subscription, I get shopping cart errors at Tonevendor. Just though you might want to know...

Hey everyone, thanks for all of the submissions. I've forwarded everyone's responses to the band and the ball is in their court now. It may take them awhile to go through everything, but they do appreciate all of the responses!

Sort of off topic: bass amp for temp PA

This is kind of a dumb question, but I'm going to ask it anyhow, knowing I may very well be subjected to the jeers of everyone here. I'm having a first practice with a new music project today and the PA speakers I ordered is late and won't be here until Saturday. Got the stands, got the cables -- sp...

Producer for Americana / Pop / Country Rock Group

A client of my design business is looking to record their next release and wants someone who can produce it... they can bring someone out here to the Portland area for it, if needed. They want something super radio friendly and polished sounding. Someone with some bigger name credibility is also des...

P.A. Speakers and Power Amp Advice

Got a new band forming and realized I need to get a P.A. setup for practice and maybe some gigs at smaller venues. I have mics, stands, cables already and I have a decent Soundcraft board that I don't use for recording any longer. I need a power amp and some speakers, budget minded, but loud enough ...

Commercial Basement Space

Hey All, I've been away from the TOMB for a few months, as I've been working on building my design/web business into more of a full service creative agency and have had little time to think about recording, which makes me sad. But I have an opportunity to make my studio a little more legit and get i...

To everyone else -- I dropped prices on the remaining stuff a little. If it's there, it's still available!

+ 1 on the RE20. I've done a few VOs and that one comes through strong on a variety of voices, as well as being great on kick and screaming rock vocals.

Snakes, Art Tube MP, MOTU 2408, Headphone Amp. New Prices!

Getting rid of some stuff I don't need and/or have upgraded. All items come from my smoke-free home studio. Prefer local pickup in the greater Portland, OR area, but will ship. Shipping rates depend on destination. Apologies for dust in photos, will clean items up before you get them. Please specify...

Whoops, thought I had posted a response to this earlier today, but guess I forgot to hit the submit button. Lame! I am just about to start in on my first official spec, but I think it will work out well. It is for the very client who caused me to establish that policy in the first place, and they we...

Wow. Thanks for the pep-talk CC. As an update, I have decided to keep my business going. Things are going well -- got a bunch of big jobs in the door, am bringing on my part time person full time and am going to keep things moving forward. I'm hoping, within the next few months, to add the recording...

I've had some pretty good luck running my Telecaster straight into my Presonus MP20 (w/ burr-brown opamp upgrades, if that matters) instrument input, then using Logic's Guitar Amp plugin to apply just a tad bit of grit. Really chimey shimmering tone when a little reverb is added in for good measure....
