I see a lot of kids sharing iPods/headphones when they listen to music [so each person only hears one side of the mix]. Does anyone make any adjustments with this particular audience in mind or is it not something anyone else thinks/worries about?

see if Vinny's Music will do it. They moved my 24 track and console from Bay Ridge to Midtown for a reasonable price back in '02.....

instead of taking the reverb unit out of the amp, why not leave the reverb unit in the amp and use the amp.
if you have a nice empty, reflective room [or a spare bathroom], set up the amp in there and mic the room. might be the best reverb money can buy.

I think Joe Jackson's Big World sounds pretty darn good.....

if you can't get your record on the radio, at least you can get the radio on your record...... i remember encountering this problem and somehow using tin foil to correct it. can't remember exactly how though......might've been as simple as putting the foil over the 1/4" inout of the amp and plugging...

the alesis X2 that i worked on was pretty decent sounding. there's a record by an artist "Morley" called Sun Machine [released around '98] that was mixed half on a classic Neve console [not quite an 8078 since it was 16 buss not 24.....but basically an awesome console] and half on the producer's Ale...

i've done two off-bway shows in NYC....both have had preshow and intermission music. most shows that i've seen here have preshow music as well.

wow, i worked on the vernon reid record he produced as a substitute assistant engineer.....was like going into a different era the way he worked.
