Heres the whole shindig in lossless. I think the ones that need the most help are Kids, Janes and Up (these are just abbreviations) http://napoleonshand.com/Audio/Lossless/Ghetto.m4a http://napoleonshand.com/Audio/Lossless/Rodeo.m4a http://napoleonshand.com/Audio/Lossless/Kids.m4a http://napoleonsha...

EP is very close but this song... EEEK!
Could someone give me advice on how I should go about mixing this? Specifics general? The rest of the album is coming well but this one is a little testy. FYI. Its a gameboy/ukulele band so the sounds are integral (though I woud consider rerecording the vox or the uke), just to avoid any "use differ...

Mixing a higher bass (around 200hz) with a kick
Hi,
I was wondering what a good stradegy for mixing a higher bass around (200hz, sometimes 100 as well) with a kick (usually around 100hz)
Both are electronic, and because of some conceptual constraints can't really be changed.
Is there anyway to keep it funky and dancey with out using a sub bass?

Those little white buds are the new ns-10's What sounds good is subjective (casey king of the obvious). Our idea of what sounds good is based on one hundred years (not really) of music mixed on speakers. I think, in a modern context, mixing on headphones is the most sensible thing to do, but it is g...

Earth Angel... How to emulate that sound
Can someone give me some pointers as to how to get close the sound of Earth Angel by the penguins? What kind of gear were they using back then? Did they have compressors at that point. I'm using sample libraries for the drums and piano so I need to figure out a way to do it in post.
Thanks,
Casey

San Francisco, actually.. All my friends want me to move to New York though... I suppose my old school, CalArts, is sort of a spring board there. I don't think I can handle the weather. It's so pretty and laid back here. I'll try the comforter thing to see if I can get some better results with that....

Yeah... I got them off craigslist from some very flaming hunters from Guerneville (It's a very odd combination)... I'm really pining for a bear rug but at the moment its food/rent v.s. bear rug... even when I do have money instruments usually beat it out... I'm playing the lottery. I do have a 5 x 7...

Alright thats a little cocky... Just, you know... email for the shipping address. I just had an idea on the scary skateboard ride from my apartment in the ghetto to the starbucks (this one is actually more than 76" from my house). Rigid Fiberglass -> 5" Air -> Triangular Diffuser -> Wall .... If you...

Mic placement... where? PICS
Hi, I'm trying to quiet the room reflections in my vocals. Am I better keeping my mic where it is (see pic) or moving it to where the closet is pointed towards the closet? (I plan to hang a comforter in front of the closet)... Any other ideas considering my room? How much would that SE Reflexion thi...
