Re: Charleston WV area people???
I live in Barboursville (basically Huntington). My good friend Max is also a reader and lives in Huntington. If you get a space up and running, we'd love to come check it out. Awesome. We passed through Huntington/Barboursville heading into town on Friday. I think youre like 45 minutes away. Once I...

Well, I just spent 3 days moving across the country and putting everything into storage. Gotta get cracking on finding a new space. Are there any tapeop'ers in the Charleston West Virginia area?

Pro Tools 7 LE does not like to be used with FW400 and FW800 drives. If you were swapping the song around between those different kinds of drives, PT can act up. Anyhow. Not likely, but that's one possible scenerio. Yes, but unfortunately these were both 400 drives. Both of them were their LaCie (2...

So tonight i worked on a project for a friend of mine. He has been recording a band over the past 6 months using his Digi002r. Hes on tour so he called me up and asked if i could help out and track some guitars for him. I grabbed my rack, some pres, some mics, and headed over to their space. Its a v...

I just want to chime in and agree with the 414s for sure. love them. I have used 012s for a few years off and on, they work great 99% of the time. Ive never had much luck when the drummer had his toms tuned super high and tight or if he was a very very light hitter....but otherwise...i love them too...

Mine is the 3 ply with the reinforcement ring (rim), not the solid 6 ply. i feel this makes the d...

Ive done a lot of touring with heavy bands. (ie, mastodon, cephalic carnage, etc, relapse records stuff). i love it as much as i love Ralph Stanley or the Outfield even. Either myspace is getting better at not destroying the audio these days or your record is so effing thick its perfect. Sounds grea...

I wonder how My Bloody Valentine and The Jesus and Mary Chain made it work... Soft vocals and super loud guitar amps both sitting in pretty much the same space frequency-wise... Did you ever see them live?? I have worked for them both, and i can say that the Jesus and Mary Chain did not have super ...

Once we were tracking keys and I swear he got the same exact sound on his Roland. It was a synth bass and he increased the weighted attack and removed any after artifacts. It sounded the same. That sound may not be a bass at all, but if youre working with a bass only and trying to recreate it, try p...
