Thread Necromancy Alert... OK, nearly seven years later, and I have finally got the amp of my dreams! It arrived yesterday. It's based on the Fender Blackface Deluxe Reverb circuit (AB763), with a load of changes (see below), custom built for me by Vyse Amps in the UK in a Tweed combo cab with a Web...

Cataluma - Sidereal Shadows Album

I've released some of these tracks before, but they've finally been finished into an album. Contributions by myself, Tokyo Cat, Cat-A-Tonic and various other pussy lovers. Available streaming or as freely downloadable lossless FLAC files, a new album from Cataluma featuring four tracks of improvisat...

i also prefer to mix with my ears. by all means use these tools as an adjunct to what you are hearing, but definitely don't rely on them to tell you what to do.

Pawnsphinx - It-Theka E.P.

I am very happy to announce the exclusive release on my mastering website of the "It-Theka E.P." by Pawnsphinx. Three tracks of high quality acrobatic beats and breaks, backed by sublime strings and things. Chamber music for the 21st Century! This E.P. contains all new material recorded in the latte...

sometimes really difficult, because they don't make much sound, except for when they are moving through the grass i guess (unless they are rattlers).

i'd be tempted to try and strap a lavalier mic around it's body.

Peppermint Sine Waves - A Hermetech Mastering Compilation

I've recently released a freely downloadable compilation album of various electronic tracks and artists I have mastered this year. It runs the gamut from mellow down tempo chill out, to heavy metal and harsh industrial, so stylistically it may not be everyone's cup of tea. There are more details and...

As has already been stated, a modular is overkill (more possibilities than you would ever need to create simple pads), and underkill (they are most appropriate for mono or duophonic sounds unless you want to invest a lot of money and space). Having said that, I have created some intense lead sounds ...

pair of chandler germanium compressors? that's what i use, but i am mainly recording, mixing and mastering electronic industrial and dance music, so i can't really comment on them in a "band" context. i like that they can easily go from all out squash to very subtle, they are basically very versatil...

Babaluma - Tsunami Tidal Waves Remaster

An old track from 2002, some of you may have heard it before. It was created completely digitally within AudioMulch. Today I remastered it through the outboard gear (compressor, eq, preamp and spring reverb), and recorded it back in. No further digital processing. I hope you enjoy it, please let me ...

Well, I have been wanting and waiting for this for a long long time: http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4038/4334623276_8a0e3e3ee0_b.jpg It's a custom Fromel Seraph Deluxe chorus unit. It's based on the Boss DC-2 Dimension C guitar pedal (which in turn was based on the Roland SDD-320 Dimension D rack un...
