i have had the c3000 for years and have used the e100 quite a bit. i like them both but if i had to chose i would probably pick the akg. maybe just because i'm sentimental. i know a lot of people dislike this mic. i have used it on everything at one time or another. mostly vox, acoustic guitar, and ...

yeah i talked to cad but they want $150 plus 15 for shipping.
seems like a lot for a 200 dollar mic.

like i said, it works with my other pres.

anybody know what to look for if i open it up again?

too bad i'm a moron.

how high is your gain turned up when you use it with the 12ay7?

i have tried this mike on my other pre (symetrix 528) and had no problems. also tried my other mikes (condensers) with the eh 12aY7 and got a hotter signal at 1/4 the gain. this mike does have a weird hum when i go to adjust the multi pattern dial. before i even touch it with my finger about a !/4 i...

what kind of mikes are you using? if you can get closer to the drums and point some small condensers away from the other instruments it might give you a little more control over the the kit. strategic placement of the amps is also a possibility can you throw up some gobos for a little isolation? but...

i believe the manual for the m1524/32 is the same. its available at the yamaha site. i just started using one as well. there are two sets of xlr inputs for each channel. i think they are called M1 and M2. there are buttons on the front panel for each channel to switch back and forth between inputs p...
