Re: READ THIS IF YOU LIKE TAPE

this is a beautiful thing. in the chaos after the tape "shortage" i picked myself up a 1/4" fostex machine, my first r2r deck, for practically nothing. i had a feeling tape wasnt going to die just like that. maybe the demand for tape is going to increase now? i mean, there have got to be others like...

Re: smallest recorder for a good $

mini-disc is a pretty great recording medium for what it is. the other day i found an old first-gen MD laying around. went out and bought some MDs (10 bucks for a pack of 5), hooked up some binaural mics to it and recorded some acoustic guitar and voice. i was blown away by the sound. i now have a e...

...of all the "new to analog" and "I just bought an Otari" threads that have popped up in the past couple days, timed perfectly with the Quantegy shutdown ruckus? Do all these people have coincidentially bad timing, or are they just crafty enough to realize that all the chicken littles out there wi...

Re: Otari 8 track question

Just think: You'll be able to charge more for analog recording because not only will it be "warm", "punchy", and "vintage"...it will be rare. yeah, well im pretty much buying a reel to reel to record my own music. but ive got a lot of friends in bands and some record in their home studios digitally...
