We seem to always want a B-3 for projects we record and the real B-3 w/ lez is of course the real shit but loads of money to have. Is the XK-2 something to consider as an alternative to the B-3? Any insight would be great.

What is the best unit or device for making really good clicks. I don't mean a simple drum machine with KICK SNARE HI HAT 4/4 kind of shjt. I'm trying to imagine there is a better way to do clicks. Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?

We at Tweed Recording have been using the ML for about 10 months now and haven't had any problems but the 24/96 conversion to 16/44.1 makes sense like the others are saying. Sony MDR 7506's are my fav's. All around they are comfortable for long use and they sound great. The click can always be a problem no matter what phones you use so the cure would be headphone volume and such. I'm sure you know that, but the 7506's are the way to go.

I don't care for the MXL things at all. If you can't afford the goods, then I'd just save your money and use some good ole 57's. Maybe thats crazy but not as crazy as waisting dough on cheap crap.
