The short answer is that I have done nothing. The long answer is that I have spent a lot of time dicking around on the internet trying to find a solution. http://www.macmod.com/content/view/760/221/ http://www.macmod.com/content/view/779/221/ These are two examples of gutting the g4 and rebuilding i...

G4 noise problem - help! anyone try the Verax fans?
Just recently picked up a dual 1.25 G4 MDD and its great because its fast and also OS9 bootable which is helpful for me etc etc, but it is so loud. Way too loud for a guy like me who tracks acoustic guitars and vocals in the same room as the machine. I did some research on it before I bought it but ...

G4 Dual 1.25, 1gig RAM, exc. condition, OS9 bootable
It's a wind tunnel. It's in immaculate condition, factory plastic is still on the drive doors. I'm selling it because I'm now in a space where the nosie is an issue. If you have a control room or a closet or are comfortable swapping out the PSU fans then it could be a great investment. Check out my ...

Now that the Mac-wool has been pulled from my eyes I am learning things that many of you have probably known for a long time. so, you're learning that if you want to use a PC, you've either got to pay as much as a Mac to get a good one, or learn how to build them and configure them, and troubleshoo...

Admittedly I have no experience with any chipsets, I was just parroting the results of the RME test. The ADK guys seem to endorse it as well: Description: based on the new AMD Athlon 64/ 64 939 and FX Processors. (same computer the owner uses)100 tracks+ and 60+ effects, low latency and great for VS...

Building the PC dream-machine
I know there are plenty of threads on this, but I figure since its an ever changing world in which we live in... I am switching from a decrepit, electrocuting, overpriced powerbook 667 to the custom-built, super-bad-ass, at least as good as a G5 if not better for a fraction of a price, PC dream-mach...

Hey dirtmachinge. There are a lot of discussions about this same issue over on the Apple Support site. http://discussions.apple.com/search.jspa?objID=c120&search=Go&q=shock Wow, that was invaluable. I'm NOT crazy!!! Appreciate the replies. Incidentally, as I type, I am running on the battery only a...

Electrocution from my Powerbook - anyone ever get this?
I might be crazy, but I would swear that my powerbook is giving me lots of little shocks as I use it. It's an old 667mhz 15" (2002, actually, but old in terms of being decrepit and outdated). I'm using a usb mouse and typing very carefully, but still a bunch of little tingles. Anyone ever have an ex...
