why not install the uad-1 card into a cheap desktop pc or mac with an inexpensive soundcard and use it as an fx rack for your powerbook? you could also do it over a network (without buying a soundcard) by using something like wormhole/jack... i recently built a cheap headless $300 pc (using microsof...

how about these ? these have plenty of low-end, are quite compact and portable, and will impress your clients with their sleek design. plus they're way rough, NKOTB-style. i wonder what kind of price we could get on 50... this made-in-china site is totally awesome. we should do a group buy on sandw...

Which makes me think that a gear co-op may be a good idea. The problem would be finding products that we can get decent savings on at relatively low volumes that enough people here would be interested in and could afford. I doubt we'd get enough of a discount on a Royer 121 that we could move even ...

i dunno, but it seems a 10% markup for someone trustworthy to front the cash and handle all the shipping/receiving/packaging is a pretty fair deal - i'm in for a pair ;)

can't speak much about their electronics but their acoustic guitars are very good value for money. there's a carvin outlet in hollywood - i got good service from the guys who work there. the prices are good too - i guess it's because they cut out the middle man. btw, getting hung up about resale val...
