How are you running your headphone sends? (wiring question)

My studio is moving and I need to get the wiring done soon. In my old system I had the 1/4" sends of a stage snake plugged into Aux 1 and 2 on the back of my Soundcraft ghost. On the other end of the snake (100 ft) had a send return cable coming from the returns, feeding a behringer headphone amp. I...

I read some quote from Joe Strummer or somebody about there being a racial element to this fear - i.e. that nobody minds aging blues, soul, or jazz men of color, but somehow white guys need to stay in their 20's forever ...

Where can I get a vintage MD421 repaired?

My 1960's MD421 recently crapped out on me. Thought it was a soldering issue, but it must be something else. Worked fine until last week the signal was getting louder and quieter. Now it's pretty much crapped out totally. Any idea where to send this? ...Does Sennheiser deal with stuff this old? (It'...

This thread reminds me of a question I wanted to ask you folks; does anyone have any articles or interviews about Double Nickles on The Dime, especially as far as production goes? I love the sound of that CD, especially the drums and bass. I know they recorded the songs in the order they were going...

I buy Monster becasue I break a lot of cabels, and I like to be able to walk into a GC anywhere in the country and get a new one for free. It's saved me a lot of money in the long run. Yeah, but how much does it cost you to put a session on hold and drive to GC? I use nice sturdy Belden or EWI cabl...

The original CD issue of Raw Power was horrible, the vinyl sounded great, and I haven;t heard Iggy's mixes.

The recent S/T and Funhouse remasters were wonderful, or at least I thought so. now there was a CD that was really in need of a remaster

I've used Monster, Mogami, George L, B.L.U.E., and the $10 cheapies at guitar center. I honestly cant hear a difference except for like obvious buzzing/grounding/shorting issues. Does that make me a bad engineer? ...Never once in my life have I been recording and think "Hmmm, that guitar sounds bad,...

Am I the only one that likes the X reissues? ...I dont feel X is an example of "over" mastering. I bought all 4 reissues, and I was happy with them all. While it is louder, I haven't really heard any distortion and it doesn't strike me as sounding any "worse" than the original CD's (The original vin...

I'm almost sure they had insurance....most bands won't tour without it in their rider. I would never leave a van full of this much stuff alone for a second. And I would definitely shoot first ask questions later... How come their amps aren't listed??? Their amps weren't stolen. Looks like it was a ...
