I have browsed through the archives trying to find some interesting threads weighing the pros and cons of going to a dedicated recording arts program. Some of the stories frightened me to think that one could spend that much money without any real knowledge or experience and a degree that is so poor...

i pretty much do that. it can be hard sometimes, especially if you feel like the client is getting impatient or anxious and you still have to check levels, phase, etc. but i guess like they say youll save yourself a lot of work later on if you get the right sounds initially.

personally even in stereo, i prefer authentic doubles to copy+pasted ones. but yeah the problem is definitely more pronounced in mono. which i guess its up to the client how important mono compatibility is. but one thing you can do is add a very little amount chorus to the "double". and maybe eq it ...

the drop down menu for what i assume would allow me to change it to aggregate device was greyed out and defaulted to non-interleaved device.
