Re: Pacific Pro Audio Ribbon Group Buy Instructions

I've been trying to find it for you. I think it was an online discussion about tube mics and transformers in tube mics, and swapping different tubes and other mods. I believe the remark was that, despite all the mods, no single mod would change the charachter of the mic as much as changing the grill...

Re: Pacific Pro Audio Ribbon Group Buy Instructions

Thanks, Michael! I'm impressed with your calm and careful replies and explanations and courtesy. It goes a long way. Indeed, so what we know of the HRM-2 implies it to be the best and safest choice. Several reviews I've read have indicated the Nady has an upper mid peak at (about 2k?) which has anno...

Re: Pacific Pro Audio Ribbon Group Buy Instructions

I haven't seen how the XLR connector is mounted on the HRM 4, but it could be awkward and add additional weight and leverage that the hanging cable would apply to the mic in its yoke, thus making postioning awkward. A flexible cable coming out of the body instead makes this easier. We're used to thi...

Just because there is gear doesnt mean you get a good recording and just because you dont have an 8068 in your house doesnt mean you cant kick ass. dave Hi Dave. Totally agree. However, listen to my story. Ten years ago I was producing my first project. Tracking to 2" things went fine. When we bega...

Re: New TapeOp

Mine has a huge red stop sign on the cover saying I have to renew or I'm expired. When I go to the renewal links here they are dead. What's up with the Tape Op online renewal? Dead links!

I agree it's a very entertaining issue/mag, and puts many of the commercial ones to shame.

Re: Pacific Pro Audio Ribbon Group Buy Instructions

Part of the reason I ordered was because it was the HRM 2. I was also in favor of the cable coming out of the body, like on vintage mics.

cheers,

Re: anyone worked with Cravedog?

A few years ago I did a CD with them and had some problems. Todd was very busy and hard to reach, but he was very good about offering a solution.

Re: Pacific Pro Audio R-one Ribbon... if you're in read this

A pair here. I'd like to hear more details as this shapes up. Which finish are the mics? Boxed? Where do they ship from in US? Is there a pix of the mics somewhere, apart from the Nady version?

Sorry if this has been posted, I couldn't find it in the thread...
