people have been mentioning pops and digital noise from 828s and 828mk2s. Have you noticed this?
What software are you running and what type of mac?

Re: so i bought a motu 828 off ebay...
I'm glad of your post since I've been looking in to doing the same and wondered about it. I'm a long time MOTU software user and I experienced the same thing with a used copy of Digital Performer. They can be pretty stubborn which is annoying yet understandable. However, it's less understandable wit...

G5 optical digital input
I've been shopping for a new mac to run MOTU DP 4.5 and I'm interested in the G5 PowerPC 1.8GHz. On the apple website it lists an optical digital audio input. Re: mac mini? hmmmmmmm.....
I've used macs for years with virtually no trouble. I think I may try and pick one of these up to replace my hilariously outdated (and yet still rockin) G3 beige desktop (purchased used for $125). I want to run MOTU digital performer with a firewire external drive to record tracks and a MOTU 828 FW ...

Re: Tape Op trashed on Motu Mac listserv
I am a long time motu-mac member and an even longer motu-mac user. Motu-mac is great when you have DP and you get into a bind. The rest of it is extraneous. The proof is in the pudding my friends. Tape Op is more like Bristol Farms (read-upscale grocery store) and motu-mac is more like your local st...
