I tend to monitor at low to moderate volume, although I realize that is subjective terminology.

Advice for mixing in a non-symmetrical room?

My control room is not symmetrical. Kind of L-shaped, really, because the "back" wall has a big opening for at least 1/3 of the room length that connects to a foyer, off which there is a bathroom and a kitchen. The long dimension is approx 17 feet IIRC, and the short dimension in the "non-L" part of...

I notice I have a definite bias about which side I pan things to in a mix. I don't really think it has much to do with symmetrical hearing. It feels more akin to the way we read from left to right in this culture. Sometimes I purposely change things up, but when I do I always feel like the mix feels...

Have any of you tried using it as a delay line? I am just about to pull the trigger on the Massey TD5, but for an extra $20 this seems very interesting. Plus if I read the info correctly it has wow & flutter settings which the Massey doesn't. Edit - Reading the info on the Waves page more thoroughly...

Hodas continues with his point.

Sorry, I meant Pensado!

favorite line so far, at 13 minutes and change: Pensado: "The... listener...probably has two questions, what is too much EQ, and ... I forget the other one." Hodas: "Let's take the first one, and you can think about it while you're not listening to my answer." I don't know how much he knows about ac...

Check out this Bob Hodas interview... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AUTe7F0Qlp0&feature=sh_e_sl&list=SL Did they disturb his nap to do this? He might have at least run his hand through his hair before the taping! The downside of free "air time" on YouTube! This would have been better with A LOT of...

I built my own 3 position speaker selector (for active monitors) using a 4p3t (or is it 3p4t - I can never keep that straight) rotary switch, a box, and a bunch of 1/4" trs jacks. a pair for L+R inputs, 3 sets of L+R outputs. Simple. I did not do anything to avoid the "infinite slope" that the monit...

This thread has lots of comments that imply a background of terminology/jargon about the Glynn Johns mic'ing plan. Can you point me to a thread or threads going into more detail about the Glynn Johns technique, and especially the "sphere"?

I have always kind of wanted a pair of these. May I assume they are in good working condition? Any idea how much shipping would be to Los Angeles 90039? Do you have the original cartons etc for packing?

Thanks.

You're never gonna get off drugs if you mix like that! 8~) This thread is interesting, but I am not sure which soundclouded versions are which at this point.
